Played the first main mission, including fighting the bullet sponge boss. It's more of the same as the first game. If the first one wasn't your thing this one isn't going to change your mind.

They reworked the health system and they seem to have replaced awkward mantling with fast vaulting.

I put a few more hours into the beta and it still felt like an expansion pack for Division 1. Totally wouldn't pay $76-80 NZD for this. It'll probably be 50% off by June.

I'd buy it over the Anthem any day though.

That's a shame, 'cos it was probably the most compelling thing about the first game. I'm not a lover of PvP either, but the tension the Dark Zone mechanic created was superb.
I would regularly call in extractions at one point to draw attention, then hike all the way across the zone to the far end to actually extract.
And those face-offs when other guys would arrive at your extraction were exquisite. You never knew if they were going to cut the rope or not, and the wait always dripped with potential.

Of course, the actual PvP mechanics were thoroughly unbalanced thanks to the game being a loot-and-levels kinda deal, but the core idea of the Dark Zone was sound.
