First, a big thank you to Zontik for all your work. Beautiful Graphics.
I need help finding loot. Playing normal. Found chess 500 and under ramp 500 plus small amounts. Are there more 500 amounts? I am at a little over 6 hours so I have been looking. Currently at 1160 loot. I don't like to skip missions so would appreciate any help. Are the secrets in normal also?. Please give location on map. Thank you!

Check the staircase and run back into the 3rd room.

As Cheela wrote, there is something in the room with the stairs. On easiest difficulty level, however, the safe cannot be opened, and you won't find anything near the staircase.

I think i have been everywhere and been going around in circles for hours. The only places I can't figure out how to get to are
    spoiler:
the place where there is a little bridge just before the traverse wall and there is an archer up above, how I can get to him? And also when i jump in the water near there,in what i guess is behind floodgate caretaker's home, I can frob a door to open, while still being behind a closed gate, but no way to get there?! I only opened up one other gate so far,are there more i am missing? Please someone outright spoil me,I am out of ideas

Hi, no idea for that wall, i too couldn't jump onto it, but somebody said it was possible (and just for fun).
For the caretaker's house (on expert): jump out of water behind the building, search a window high up, break the glass with an arrow and rope up. But i don't know how to do it on normal.

It's not part of the mission. But you could try to mantle up the nearby torches and climb across the tops of the walls.

on normal, the so-called 2nd part is already accessible. on expert, that wooden gate near catapult is closed and needs to be... eh... opened up somehow.

I hope there are not so much differences in loot between difficulties, so please check this post.

One of the windows at the back of caretaker's house is breakable, i mean this one. Checked it on normal.

Could anyone just spoil me on how to get the chess grandmaster's loot (and where their house is even) and the floodgate gear? I've been running around this blasted level forever (on Expert, still missing about 1200 loot) and I just want to get it over with... not enjoying it at all any more. So don't hold back with the explicit hints please.

Both places are marked with a red X on your map.

The loot associated with the chess board can be found in the marked house near the starting point. Go to the starting point, circle around that marked house counter-clockwise, and look for a window high up. Save your game, then shoot a rope arrow into the frame of the open window. Try to mantle up there and get onto the windowsill. This can be very tricky, that's one reason why I told you to save.

Once you search the apartment, you should have no trouble finding the chess board. Look at the plaque on one side, it gives you a hint on what to do here. If you don't know how to play chess, let me give you another hint: The queen in the chess game can threaten other board pieces when the queen and the other piece are on the same line or column, or when they're both on the same exactly diagonal line.

This should give you enough information about what to do with the chess board. If you still don't know what to do, have a look at the campaign's zip file. It contains the solution to this riddle as a graphics file, although I don't remember exactly where the file was located.

The floodgate gear is where the rightmost marking is placed on the map. The green thing there is the river, so that's where one may expect a floodgate. Try to get there (which may be a challenge in itself, depending on what difficulty level you're playing on), then circle the marked house once again. You should find a place where a guard stands near the river and a tree. Beware, there's also an archer on the battlements at the small bridge here!

Looking high up at the house marked with the red X, you should see a glass window. Get rid of the guard near the river first, then shoot a broadhead arrow into the glass. Once the window is broken, shoot a rope arrow into the overhanging roof, then climb up and inside. Search the house well; there's a small room somewhere, and the gear is mounted on the wall. Take it, and you're done with that as well.

    Thank you both!!
I facepalmed so hard on the arrow into window frame solution to getting up to that window near the start... that is such bullshit. I mean it's pretty inventive for sure, in hindsight, but it's a bit unfair. I spent an eternity looking around that spot trying to find a rope-able surface... and it's that tiny, thin sliver of wood on the edge of the window?? Just nope nope nope

Anyway, back to looting, hopefully these will be enough to finish.

    Sorry baeuchlein! Here you go

I even didn't know that way you mentioned, roping up to chess master's window, but i tried it a few times! I am curious and check that in game.

    Edit: wow, you are right!

OK so I'm at 2887 loot, missing just a little bit more.

Floodgate gear: I had found where it was pretty early on, but I can't remember if I took a gear from that gear wall or not. Now I can see two gears: one silver-colored at the top that is spinning, and one gold-colored one at the bottom that is standing still and NOT frobbable. Am I supposed to do something else first to make the gold gear frobbable, or is my mission bugged?

Captain's safe: I haven't found any clues as to the wedding date, I know it's supposed to be somewhere in an invitation, but I never came across anything like that. What is the date/where exactly can I find the clue for it?

    @poronty

That gear loot is a silver one and simply frobbable, and there should be 3 big ones on that panel so i think you have already taken it
    .
Code to safe: captain mentioned that they invited the doctor every single year to wedding and later to wedding anniversary, so investigate the doctor's house. You know, that burned out house in ruins, where a metal beast keeps guarding.
More hint: check the burned beams high up in the first accessible room.

I've only played the first mission and I've been running around everywhere including over the wall where I shouldn't have been looking for enough loot to fulfill the loot objective. I'm about 200 short.

I think this mission is a great effort even though its a little buggy. Has anyone made a loot list?
