Dusty, my friend...I enjoyed our discussions immensely, both here and on the old Eidos forum.

    May you transition well!...

    R.I.P Dusty.
I'll admit I never had the pleasure of conversing with him. I did find his photo among the rogues gallery that is the Ttlg Photoalbum (a woefully underutilised resource).
He seems pretty chilled out in that picture, the sun is shining, and he looks rather like a suave pirate.

I hesitated to post, I already posted to his FB account, so why bother here, because its family, (to a point) that's why. When T Scott Holbert posted about Dusty's passing, I lost my breath. My eyes flew open wide, his tribute to Dusty, shook me. For those of you who are not familiar, T Scott was a part of Eidos at one point. He sent me my Thief 2 hat. A few of us have them. When I went to Dusty's FB page, and saw his son's post, I felt a lump in my throat, and tears welled in my eyes. For a man I never meant, it hit me. We shared both a past on the Eidos forum first, then TTLG. He made for me a chandelier swinger gif, my very own from Dusty, he also sent his music to me. A talented man, with his music and words forever etched in my heart. I cannot help but have a sense of sadness now when I think of Thief, its been a hard year, I am truly having a bit of a hard time with all this. I know it will pass, but, we'll never forget. I will forever love the game, and the people that are associated with it. Don't under estimate the power of your words, in this fast pace society we have today, slow down, take the time, write. You never know who's lives you'll touch. Peace......

I remember when he posted that photo, he was a big fan of the Renn Faires, I believe that's where it was taken. Not sure, if memory serves me.

I only ever lurked from time to time, life was too busy to ever properly engage. But you get a sense of people through the things they post, and end up with strangers meaning something to you as a result of that, and miss people you've never met. RIP Dusty.

Another good one gone. I remember us arguing over some pointless crap. I'm pretty sure he won, because I was an idiot.

Dusty also wrote some epic Thief poems. There are links to his ukulele vids in this thread.
