The first two were definitely more consistent in quality. The newest one does have a few I'd put into regular rotation, but yeah, it's a bit of a downer compared to their usual sawtooth synthmode and Lauren's general 'I'm goan fuck you so hard with optimism you goan regret what you did BOY' is sort of MIA.

I wouldn't say their sound remains intact:

Is this some kind of Imagine Dragons knockoff? I agree that their endless tribute to Depeche Mode will probably have to end someday, but I kinda feel they've taken the wrong turn. Very similar situation to Purity Ring, their first album was awesome and original; the second can be a background music for a kebab joint.

I do believe you out weirded me Ducks.

I stumbled on this and it made me laugh. This was my estimation back when I was 21. Poor John had his 21 last a lot longer.

My frame of reference for 1980s Spanish music has now doubled.

Imma be the official Spanish (as in the language, not the nationality...but there will be ditties from Spain too here and there) music provider now 'cuz why not? With the random non-Spanish bits too.

And now, for something more 21st century: San Pascualito Rey.

This song was 1980 for me. What's weird is they made a TV series out of it in 2001.

Wish I could go with you SirLord. Here is a song we often broke into when I was at the airbase at Heyford on foggy nights. Only we sang "Ain't it foggy in here" after "all the planes have been grounded" because we fogged it up a great deal and that made it fit all the more. Listening to it now it fits like a bridge between ages.

I can't stop listening to this

    HORNY CAJUN FUNK

The Cocaine & Rhinestones podcast keeps leading me to wonderful deep cuts. This song has a mere 1874 plays on Spotify and pretty much just the amazon.com page for the album comes up when you try googling it. Yet, I can't shake the feeling I've heard it before, like it was on a soundtrack or something, but that seems unlikely. The whole "Cajun in the Blues County" album is pretty great.

Like the music but think the singer could use some cocaine to perk him up.

Here is another of Sophie Lloyd. She has promise. She is derivative often, particularly of Iron Maiden, and she trades on her looks, and she sacrifices tune for speed, but I can't help but feel she will find her way. She has all the licks but needs to figure tempo by feeling it instead of falling back on muscle memory. I love metal but I can't help but feel she is just missing something great by inches. She also has a lovely voice she isn't using. She needs THE song. The one she actually feels instead of just showing off. It frustrates me. I can hear something about to blossom that doesn't. She is young yet. She needs to put away the tits and search for that one true song. She CAN do it but WILL she? This is as close as she has come so far. It's nearly mesmerizing but falls short for show off appeal somehow.
