    help, I am so lost

    Used medalion on statue in sewer. entered room and flicked switch. Climbed down ladder and walked down ramp to lower level with a vine rope in the ceiling going down into a well. Climbed down vine, but can't seem to get off the two stranded vine. I can see an opening at the far end but just can't get there. No lantern and no spy. HELP.

    There are a few difficulties in this "tight" section. The two vine drop is one of them. You are supposed to be able to release yourself from the vine(s). Try jumping close to the bottom or twisting a bit then dropping.
    The opening at the far end is where you need to go. Getting up there again can be tricky. I think I managed it by submerging in the water then quickly racing up and kinda jumping to the ledge or rope, I can't remember which.
    Thirdly, once you get up on the ledge, you have to squeeze your way to the tomb. You might wrongfully conclude that you can't access the tomb. It's an awkward maneuver.

    But that is where you need to end up in order to continue.

    How do I open door on the lowest floor, right at the base of the stairs???
    spoiler:
    I have a yellow key that I got from the guy in brown with the bloody face, who shows up after you read that note on the table....but it doesn't work nor do my lockpicks???? Also is there any way by the bars on the very top of the stairs???

    I feel pretty stupid ..... I didn't even realize that you could frob the bars, I just figured that there would be a lock to pick or a switch and the bars didn't appear to light up so I didn't even try....duh...

    Seriously, I don't suppose anyone has attempted this mission again due to its bad reputation. So I'm not going to hold my breath over a response. But I really don't know what to do for the last mission (Masquerade). I need a key for sure but can't seem to find it.

    ...few minutes later...
    Cancel the key question. I forgot the medallion in my inventory was a key.

    5th mission (Siege): The buddies will follow you and help you. Final objective fixed, no more ctrl+shift+alt+end. Go to the gong area to end the mission - with your buddy Vennok, don't forget the enemy nearby. Gameplay has changed a bit.

    i ended up beating this series of missions back in the day,but i had to figure out different ways to complete certain parts

    this is a good example of a mission series that should have been redone in new dark ,fixing all previous problems and updating the series,as it was very good/hard
