    Think of it this way:
    spoiler:
What's the most common use of '52' you know of?

Is the use you mean for that number world-wide? I mean isn't the number special in certain countries only by chance? Because right now, after few minutes of thinking, I still can't imagine what the number can represent. 12 hours, 12 months, but 52... hmmm.

All I can think of 52 is number of adjacent flat
If this is a measure of weight or something like that, we use decimal measurement in general, like grammes, meters etc., no pounds or miles. Just in a case if it's something related.

Well, it can't be the answer to life, the universe and everything, because that is 42.

So I'd have to go with how many weeks are there in one of those old calendars, the kind we used back in the 20th century. They had 12 months and 52 weeks IIRC. Thank god for modern advances in time keeping.

Aided? How would you get that? I just stumbled across that room when exploring and did my little jump, reload bit a few times until I got the horn safely.

You obviously never played Bard's Tale 2. Those Deathsnares are still unsurpassed. Imagine doing this maze in the dark with random spinners and teleports all the while being timed and entirely without the benefits of a quicksave/load function.

This was a fun maze. Did anyone else map out the entire thing with some graph paper? I used a few dropped items at the start to mark some of the rooms until I figured out where most of the directions led, then it was easy to check each room.

Would have been cool if you could shadow one of the skeletons to follow it to the temple though.

So I'd have to go with how many weeks are there in one of those old calendars, the kind we used back in the 20th century. They had 12 months and 52 weeks IIRC.

And how it's now? Number of days in a year changed or number of days in a week?
    spoiler:
    365/7 = 52.142857... 52 weeks + a day or few.

    Well, 12 months=52weeks=1year.

What it gives for the solution?

Edit: finished it on Garrett with 13425 of loot and 86 killed beasts, great FM.

i also got down to the water area after getting the amyethus from the horror temple and platers have said i could bless my ankh but haven't found anything to do so, i also tried it in the pool of radiance to no effect... could some give a definitive answer to where to bless this please.

need some help...where on earth is this mace of destruction from gade's temple mentioned in a book at the bottom of the abyss? also right at the start of the mission at the bottom of one of the towers (the left tower, with you facing the graveyard), it looks like there is a secret panel entrance in the wooden wall, how does one open this? thanks.

    shadows:

    1. There is a hard to see switch on the inside of the table leg nearest the door (in the Abyss).

    2. Look for a panel in the floor behind the central pillar (both towers).

    1. The answer is a few posts back.

    2. It's in the tomb of Cyrus the Nefarious. If you can't get in there, climb up high and search carefully.

    3. No. The inscription is involved in the solution to Erim's Puzzle.

Look below. I was furious (I nearly BURST AN ARTERY) when I realized what the answer was.

If you haven't guessed, I'll just come out and tell you. No bullshit about it.

365It would help it people in this thread weren't so vague and acted liked the damn puzzle was more complicated than really is. Dafydd makes it worse by giving the impression that it works like a clock when it doesn't.
edit: Okay, okay. I take that back. The mechanics of the puzzle do in fact work like a clock, but I was confused into the answer was the same (some kind of specific time, not the aforementioned number).
Rants aside, this may be the best mission I ever played for Thief 1, (maybe ever).
