That's okay.
The good news is that you have a manual already! It's in PDF format on one of the CDs.
I have the original release so I can't tell you exactly where to look on the CDs, but it will most likely be either in the root directory or else in a sub-directory ("manual", "help", "documentation", or some other obvious name).
My experience of these re-releases is that they typically do not mess with the installer, and so the manual will most likely not be installed to your hard drive along with the game, so you do need to check the CDs.
If it's not on the first CD, it will probably be on the last one. If you can't find it, just use the Find File feature of windows and search for: *.pdf
