T2 FM: The Hidden Stone Apr. 2/06

I've FINALLY got around to fixing and releasing my FM Hidden Stone that I've been working on for so long. There are a few bugs I couldn't fix, but they are minor, and hopefully no one notices. >.>

    Check it out:

    Enjoy!

Hmmm. No credit to the beta testers nor the object makers, such as Nameless voice? Not good!

Well, I don't mind whether he will give me credit as a tester or not, but he MUST give credits to the object makers, because objects are intellectual property of other people.

Look how I made it into RDT - http://www.thiefmissions.com/readmes...DarkTemple.txt

I hate to admit it but I am already stuck.
    spoiler:
I made it to the under area and have killed 3 deadly sins. I got the guy that appears after reading the book by the double stairs, and the 2 in the sewer area. I have searched everywhere for a key to that door between the stairs but no luck. Also whats the deal with the highlightable lit but unfrobbable torch in the area you start in the under area?
    Any help appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

    Sting

Edit : Found the key right after I posted. But still need help with the torch question.

You've gotten further than me. I can't find any keys so I haven't gotten out of the church proper. I was beginning to think this was some kind of April fools prank.

I have finished the mission, its pretty good but short. I never did figure out the torch thing though. There is a scroll in a room with a guy that gives good hints on what to do and where to find the first key. Hes on the second floor I believe. Hope another new mission is coming soon.

Edit: I did find a bug though, the mission will not end properly for me. I make my exit and then all goes black, but instead of the usual mission complete thing a microsoft xp error comes up asking if I want to submit it, then back to desktop.

Sluggs-- unfortunately, i forgot who I sent to for beta-testers, i didn't right em down or anything... and there should be object credits in the readme... A fire from Schwaa, textures from Targa, and everything else I already had from DEDX. I haven't used any custom objects in the mission aside from what was in DEDX, and I didn't think I had to give credit for those.

Jackoftrades-- Hint:make sure to read the scroll next to the researcher guy, then think this: he disposed of it quickly as one would dispose of a GOLDFISH Hope that helps

You can safely ignore that (lit) torch. It's a decoy (or a bug).

Okay, I went through my PMs to see who I e-mailed about the mission, so here's the best that I can compile:

Nielsen74, GORT, Taffer63(?), i probably sent it to sluggs and Otto, though I don't have any records of such

Hidden Stone? That rings a bell! I vaguely remember making some suggestions, but only a couple of them have been implemented so perhaps it wasn't me at all.

Nightwalker: It's called Envy's Key. You will find him in the Researcher's room.

Thank you! I hadn't thought to go all the way back there to look for it.

    Treated like what?

Calm down! I noticed NV's objects in the zip file, but no mention of him in the readme.

I didn't beta test this one, but i did take a quick look at it for you, and gave you a little feedback. This was the Alpha version.

People like to beta test because they like to help, and as a bonus, they get mentioned in the readme file, usually. It's nice for them to get mentioned in FM's, and i'm sure it gives them some buzz.

BTW, have you just started on a new one then, since you're after new models?

Well, ffox sent me a nice friendly e-mail calling me an ungrateful bastard that's what. And I'll only calm down once people stop freakin attacking me. I uploaded a new readme it should be there soon...

I don't know why NV's objects would be in there except if they were included in DEDX package, but that would be beyond my knowledge. For example, ToiletX, SinkX, UrinalX, ScreenWallX, etc etc etc, were all in DEDX to begin with.

I was going to make a sequel to this, but I'm taking a long vacation from it for now, and now that I'm kinda pissed I might not finish it, but I tend to not stay angry for long.

The objects I'm looking for are for a *secret* collaborative project. Shhh...

I'm going to the pool to calm down a bit. Shit! I forgot I have an ear infection. Okay, I'll just sit in the hot tub.

You know folks...i gotta say that the way you are giving feedback made me uncomfortable, and i did not even make this mission!! before you attack...try pm'ing first to right the things that may have been overlooked, give the person a chance to make it right before you publicly critizise...no one likes that!!!

Yes, you're right. I should have PM'd him about this, instead of causing, yet, another war! I didn't think of it at the time. Seems i'm good at this stuff, unintentionally of course!

Sorry DC. Feel free to push the "Ban" button mods.

No need to ban any body her, is just a littel misunderstanding, Drysil going to hav a nice looooong soke, and he´l be as good as new, and Drysil just ignor taffers that blow up over a littel thing as a readmy file You go hav a nice relaxing soke in the hot tub, and then get back to work at that sequel, as i find this mission great so i want to see what you think of next time

That switch brings the ladder down (above the water, behind you).

OOOOps!! I misread. The unlit one does that. Sorry.
