T2 FM: Transitions in Chaos Part I by Ramirez's Fat Burrick June 21/06

Cool! A new one from Ramirez's Fat Burrick just came up on thiefmissions.com.

Transitions in Chaos Part I: Conspiracies in the Dark

I just started it up and looks gorgeous. Love the rain & atmosphere.

EDIT: Looks like Vipercat beat me to the announcement. I guess a mod will come by and delete this posting then.

Be sure to have AutoEquip enabled in the options before starting, otherwise you'll have problems.

The attention to detail and the brush work in this FM is amazing. I mean REALLY amazing. Congratulations ROFB!

I agree completely, Sluggs. I tested all three betas of this mission and I can say with all seriousness that this is probably the best mansion mission EVER.
(I'm not including Ominous Bequest in that comparison since it's much, much more than a mansion mission.)

What are you waiting for? Go download it!

This is absolutely the best mansion FM I've played! The atmosphere, detail, layout... the list goes on... I just kept saying 'Amazing!' A tremendous amount of work went into this masterpiece.

But I do need a bit of help, please... I've completed most of the objectives, but need to
    spoiler:
save Lord Marton's child. I have the key from his ghost, but don't know where to use it. Also, there are 3 metal doors I cannot open... 2 inside, 1 in a courtyard. Thanks

I’ll second, third, forth, all of the above. This mission was a real treat to betatest. ROFB has really done a fantastic job with the ambiance and weaved in a very engaging story. I’m already looking forward to the next chapters.

    Download this now!

    ROFB,

This is an amazing FM. It's like playing T2 and seeing T3. I loved it. It took me 3 and 1/2 hrs playing on hard. The only thing that I didn't find was JR's key. Also, I was way short on total loot, but had enough to finish. The storyline was great. I'll be waiting eagerly for 2nd part. Thanxs for all your hard hours on this great FM.

    Hope Vincent

Man, these objectives on expert are long and drawn out! More than once I pulled my hair out because i kept getting lost. My brain is fired right now, so I will have to finish this one tomorrow.
    But still

    Excellent mission.

Good size - plenty to see & do.

Has any one worked out what to do with the
    spoiler:
    spider venom
    .

I have tried to use it on the
    spoiler:
old woman and also on her wine bottle (which highlights)
but can't get this last bit done.

This looks like the very end, but I am stuck - help please.

    P.S. I knocked out the
    spoiler:
    old woman
earlier. I don't know if this would make a difference.

What a great map. 5 hrs and 12 minutes and still not 100% finished on normal.

Just finished - 2080 out of 2225 loot and 10 out of 13 secrets and 1 bonus - normal level. Now to go back and play on hard and find everything.

Worked out what to do with the stuff where I was stuck above. Like the old saying "If all else fails, read the instructions"

Very much looking forward to the next parts of this FM.

Congrats ROFB on a very good level.

Glad to see you figured it out, teemac. It's kind of a shame, really, if you KO the old lady early - if you leave her asleep in her chair, you get a nice surprise when you go back in there later.

    But still
It took me till my third playthrough to get the layout of the mansion down, it's amazingly complex - try playign through again sometime soon once you've finished and you'll run in fewer circles, I promise. I love how there are so many little interconnections, and balconies overlooking other areas, etc.

Would someone be so nice and upload some screenshots of it ?
I usally prefer T3 FM's over T2's because of better atmosphere,
but when you say it's that good ...

And Thief 3 doesn't run on my machine because my videocard doesn't support pixel shaders. But that mission is even not choppy. Shame, shame, Ion Storm!

I'm dying to play this FM but Cheap Missions has been downloading extremely slow for me.

Is there an alternative download site somewhere else?

He should be waiting for you in Garance's room - Garance is a servant, his room is the one with the secret vent up in the rafters that leads to the bedroom of one of the female guests.

Yarrr...as I was writing this Yandros got in first. Anyway, a little more specifically, if you need it.

    spoiler:
Garance's room is in the old manor section, 2nd floor to the north east. There should be a scroll near the door.

I didn't knock out the old woman earlier, but I can't poison her anyway.
I have an empty purple bottle, spider venom and a green mushroom in my inventory, but none of these things can be used with the old woman's bottle...
