I was working on a level like this for a while, but the project just
kind of died. I browsed my HD for the .mis file after I got this PM,
but I couldn't find it anywhere. Looks like this project is officially

Ah yes, dromed, I remember that. In answer to your question, nothing I did with dromed ever came to anything. I tinkered with it in my spare time when I was 15/16 but never had the motivation or technical skill
to pull anything off. I'd have an idea for a mission, make a very small
but fairly well-designed area and then get bored or give up due to
other commitments (ie real life). I pretty much grew out of computer games 2 or 3 years ago and haven't really played one - much less designed a mission - for about 2 years. Life moves on, but it's nice that you took an interest in my work.
I hope that answers your question - and with regards to my ill-fated dromed career, sorry to disappoint.

Umm, yeah, it's abandoned. I still have the .miss file though. Maybe some day I'll release the mission. But as we all know. In dromed, someday means "probably never."

I don't want to clog the place up but felt very strongly that I wanted to say thank you to Phantom for this excellent thread - it's an enormous amount of work keeping track of everything and I think you do a wonderful job. Its made a huge difference to me being able to keep up to date with fms, released ones in particular which I often miss. But its also great to be able to go straight to threads to get the latest news. So big thank you Phantom.

Another point has been added to the "thread guidelines" near the top of the thread (under Important to know before you continue!)!
From now on, every mission that is part of a story/series (like sequels and prequels) can be added to the list instantly. However, until the mission is 50% complete, only the name, author and screenshots will be listed.
For standalone missions nothing has changed. As stated earlier, they must be halfway build (50%) before appearing here.

I recieved your message, unfortunately I don't even have enough time to
contribute much to The Dark Mod anymore (currently doing my military
service), so my Thief2 FM is most likely never to be finished. Sorry to
say that, however it's nice to see that the community is still caring
so much about FM-Authors even if they contributed just a single mission
before.

That takes me back.. heh. I never released it because.. well, i never
finished it. I seem to recall releasing an alpha demo of it, but i don't
think it went outside the little IRC circle though.

I'm working on much bigger projects these days though.. so, i seriously
doubt i'd ever get around to ever finishing that up. Even if the prospect
inspired me, i don't think i could ever bear to work with the Dark engine
again (as wonderful an engine it is). But sure, i've still got the project
files around somewhere..

The author, who brought us "Cathedral of the Damned" in a distant past, considers putting his unfinished mission up for adoption. But he likes to know first if there's any interest from another dromEder to complete it. Send him a private message if you're interested.

I´m building a new industrial arena it will be a kind of futuristik design style, i don´t know how long this mission will take to be done, since creating this kind of missions demand a lot of work, lot of details ,complex architecture, lots of textures and so on..., probably this will be the mission of all i´ve done that will take more time to be constructed, but i promisse that i´ll have this mission finished no matter the time it takes.

To let you know I am revamping the Sisterhood of Azura Pt1
After playing it at the begining of the year it looks incredibly dated
As I am going to use the same town map for part 3 ( or at least most of it, new parts are opened up and old parts are now closed ) I thought it prudent to shape it up a bit seeing as this was my first real mission and I have a particular fondness for it.
It will keep the basic storyline, readables etc have also been tweaked to fill in for Part 2, all the objectives and AI's have been changed and are / will be considerably much better.
Architercture has been upgraded, new routes/paths opened up for game play.
Different style for the 3 settings as in part 2. (even ghosting)
Lighting sorted that sorta stuff

As it stands now:
Part1: Architecture 95% done
AI's / scripting / conversations 50%
Hope to get it out by end of April


Part 3: I am building this concurrently with part 1, architecture is around 60%
done, but as you know this can vary wildly.
The plot/ storlyline is all but done. AI's and scripting is at about 10% ) still trying to get some camvator parts working and practising some AI battles.

I'd hazard a guess and say christmas for it's release.

Thanks for your interest! It's heartening to know that my old projects still attract some notice. I'm sorry to say that my declaration of defeat was unfortunately quite serious; I have no plans to continue the project at this time and may very well have lost much of the material I was working on. I've had fantasies about resuming work on it one day, but I really doubt that anything will happen. So far as I can see, If at First is no more.
