2007-01-22 English version of "Lord Gibson's Estate" released

I'm releasing this mission on Mr.Magoo's behalf (as he requested). You can get the combined English/German file from
Thief - The Last GLASS Downloadcenter.

Thanks to s. tschiesche for hosting the file!

There is a thread about the German version available, that might help you to find your way through this mission:

    Have fun!

I was lucky enough to Beta the English version earlier today and it is a very good mission.
Some things are not readable that you may think should be or enimies may not react the way you would expect them to but I assure you it is very likely to be by design. All you need like hints and such are in tact.

Enjoy...I did. My game time was a little over an hour and a half by the game clock but in all actuality including reloads and such I was busy for about three hours at least.

    spoiler:
Down in the sewer after the gate and right before the small pool that is actually very deep.

    I got stuck betweem the
    spoiler:
pool and the gate, I can't move at all.

Close the gate, move closer to the wall reopen the gate.
    Worked for me.

Okay, I have read the thread concerning the German release, and still this question has not been answered clearly:

Where, exactly, is the key that opens the locked metal door in the basement (the only basement door that will not open with the basement master key OR lockpicks) ? The best clue is that it is on the 3rd floor, but I have been everywhere on that floor and cannot find it.

    Can someone spoil me outright?

    poison_the_well,
    spoiler:
yes, you'll have to find one. Check out the library.

    elkston,
    spoiler:
I'm not sure, but wasn't that the key behind the armoire? Otherwise check the corpse in Mr. Crampel's room.

    No
    spoiler:

The key next to Crampel's corpse is the Elevator Key, which allows access to the third floor.

So what is this armorie you are talking about? WHere is it?

This is getting really frustrating because everybody seems to have been past this door, but cannot explain where the key is or how to do it.

Once again, its the metal door in the basement -- right across from the
    spoiler:
woooden storage locker where you find Crampel's room key
    .

Since you don't know of which armoire I'm talking about, it's likely to be the one:
    spoiler:
at the top most level of the mansion, above the area with the maintenance room and the long table, there are two locked rooms. In one of them is a switch, disguised as a book. Frob that one and look around.

OHHH Okay. I had been everywhere on the third floor except for those rooms. Somehow I missed them because everything was so dark I suppose.

    Thank you for your patience.

Your spoilers arent working since you have a space in them.
Space after spoil before bracket and space before /spoil after bracket.
    Your is thus.
[spoil ] Behind the frobbable book there is a switch , but
    no rope arrow
    [ /spoil]

    Outright Spoiler

Someware up stairs in the libarary
    spoiler:
There is something you can frob, it will open a door in the wall up there (as soon as you get to the top of the stairs turn around,if you look good you can see an outline) down the cave looking hall into a room full of zombies so save once headed down that hall, be quick go left and get the key from the skeleton and climb the ladder, the rope arrow is in the chest.

I can't open the safe in the basement. I have a key labled a safe key but it doesn't work. I don't remember where I found it. I read the note about losing the safe key while playing cards in the living room. Is this the room on the top floor with the watcher high up on the ceiling? If so, where do I look? I've looked everywhere and turned up nothing. Or is this a bug?

That's not a bug: there are two safe keys in the mission and two safes as well. Search for the other one.

Thank you so much ..........for the spoiler help ..........and the library
help. I'd been down to the zombie room twice , but they freaked
me out so much that I missed the key .

Apart from spending too much time in the library , I find
this a fun AND interesting mission [ with all the twists and turns , and
the notes to Garrett .......and love that fountain ].

    Thanks again..........Nancy

    Gripper,
    spoiler:
the two questions are related, check the tables.

    northeast,
strange, the file should have stayed there for at least a month. I guess it took too much download volume on that server.
