    Wheee! A brand new forum!

Hello and welcome to TTLG's new discussion forum for Arkane's next title "The Crossing"

I know there's not a lot of information to base speculation and hype on yet, but that's what we said about BioShock as well. Besides, we know this guy on the inside... ¬¬

With any luck we'll be blessed with the same sort of information and involvement that we've been lucky to get from 2k and Irrational, and then we'll have ALL the juicy news and screenshots and inside track to pore over and be right nerds about it, as is our wont.

    Incidentally, about the forum title:

Dave: "The Crossing Anticipation" reads all wrong.

Seconded. I see no point in a 'The Crossing' forum on TTLG.

Good job you don't get to make the decisions then!

I'm also amused that you feel the need to post I DON'T LIKE THIS in a forum. If you don't like it you can, you know, not visit it! Shocking!

We have no idea what this game will be like, it may be terrible, however the exact same thing could be said about BioShock, and it turns out that we've been right to cover it.

We need to create the wagon for the bands, not the other way around.

I, for one, welcome our new Arkane overlords.

Seriously though, I don't feel TTLG should stay Thief/SS/DX only, with the occasional forum tacked on for new games from companies now employing former LG staff. A re-organisation like this, setting up a separate sub-forum umbrella for the aforementioned companies seems like a good idea - maybe Bioshock will lead to an Irrational sub-forum in time, or does SS2's position in the Shock sub-forum make that unlikely?

Don't take it like that Dave

I have never criticized the fact that admins decide what game they may like and should get a forum, it works like this, I'm a forum admin myself and I do such decisions. I was merely stating a point of view, hoping to see if other people would feel the same, which is a morally defendable thing to do.

Don't take it with such a 'I do what I want' attitude. Feedback is a good thing. Of course I didn't back up my point, but IMHO numerous games have been closer to the LGS spirit than a Solo/Multi FPS mix which development has only started.
Irrational SWAT games would have deserved a forum, hell, even STALKER may deserve a little place here (especially as it's nearing release). But The Crossing ? At this point of development ?
    I can't honestly see why

Once again, this is obviously only the wannabe-feedback, totally anger-less point of view of one member, that's why I am interested in other peoples opinion on this, even if we have no word on it.

Heh, I just now noticed that most of the forums on my "Do we really need that anymore?" list are gone now. Sayonara, "Future Shock" and "Thief III Spoilers"!

Sadly my list with people I wonder the same about keeps growing with GEOMETRICAL SPEED!

This one must be silenced. Proceed.

Well...TTLG has been following Arkane's games. From Arx to DoMM, so why not include Crossing? Especialy since propably it will have ex-LGSers and ex-IonStorm people working on it(it's Austin afterall ).
Plus..the trailer was narrated by Stephen Russel, that should be enough to include the game

Any company working with Valve has made it in my book :P But Valve is to me now what ID was to me half a decade ago. Besides Arkane makes really cool first person melee fantasy games which there aren't enough of (good ones anyway) so I'm all for them making a more popular game which will fund future projects.

Besides I just watched the trailer and wow that game really does look amazing. Oh and Arkane are big fans of LGS games and the influence in their games is obvious so they definitely deserve a place at TTLG.

I, for one, am still confused about the entire project. So, anymore information would be good thus being the point of such a forum.
