In the NYC area? Want to play test BioShock at 2K?

I don't know how many of you are in the NYC area, but I thought you'd appreciate being given a shot at this...

We’re looking for people who can come and play BioShock in the 2K offices in SoHo. We're looking for people who can come play for 3 hours a day, for 3 days in a row. You'll get $10 an hour, and get to play 9 hours of BioShock. Testing will start this Wednesday, so please fill out the questionaire below if you are interested. Time blocks are a bit flexible: 3-6, 4-7, 5-8, or 6-9 are all possible. You must be able to come for all 3 days (i.e. Wednesday-Friday of this week). Please clearly state your availability in the questionaire!

Note: We may be doing more testing next week, so if you are available then, please apply and state the days you are free.

    2) Have you ever participated in a group discussion, survey, interview or poll for marketing research purposes? If so, when, and what for?

    3) Do you consider yourself a hardcore or casual gamer?

    4) How old are you?

    5) If you own an Xbox 360, how long have you owned it?

    6) How many hours a week do you play games on your Xbox 360?

    7) How many Xbox 360 games have you purchased or received as gifts? Which ones?

    8) Which of the following genres do you play at least once a month on your 360?

    1. Simulation-style Sports - like Madden or NBA 2K7.
    2. Arcade Sports – like the Tony Hawk series or NFL Blitz series
    3. Action Adventure– like Kameo: Elements of Power or Ratchet and Clank
    4. Racing – like Gran Turismo or NASCAR or Burnout
    5. RPG (Role-playing games) – like Final Fantasy or Kingdom HEarts
    6. Puzzle/Rhythm Games – like Lumines or Guitar Hero
    7. MMORPG Games – Like World of Warcraft
    8. First Person Shooter – like Gears of War, Halo or F.E.A.R.

    9) What is your current occupation? (if full-time student, please list that)

If you'd be willing to send me the planetickets..

Anyway from the questionaire it looks as if the testing will be Xbox360..?
Is there a reason for that..? (Considering the whole port(yes/no) issue.. )

don't worry, this phase is just playtesting on the 360, but we're doing PC playtesting at some point, as well. just not right now.

I'm not the one making the testing decisions. You'll have to apply and ask.

Will the testers be given a mention in the game's credits?

I live in NYC, but I just left for a trip!
But I'll be back after Feb.
Is the PC testing happening in NYC, as well?
If so, maybe I can be there for that.

*Rolls eyes* And the point of the quoted post is...? Some people really love any excuse to fuel their mindless ethnocentrism and stroke the associated portion of the ego, I see. It's kinda sad when this wasn't even provoked in any way.

I actually do live in the NYC area... hm. Interesting opportunity. Pity that unless testing can go from 6 to 9 PM I couldn't attend even if I wanted to, heh. Lucky you to whoever takes it though.

I wonder if you'd have to sign an NDA...

I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time...

However, I think it is excellent that the community is considered. I must say that I haven't cared about Take 2 Interactive before, but this gives a very positive picture of the company. I hope I can be part of the PC testing.

    Good PR work.

Totally deleting every single one of the "I DON'T LIVE IN NEW YORK AND I CAN'T PARTICIPATE LOL" replies because Vigil hits nails directly on their heads -- as is his wont.

Please don't muddy up the water with superfluity (hahaha I make up words again)
