Played - Episode 19 w/special guest Ken Levine

    Hi guys,

This is my first post in the forums (been lurking for a bit) and I deffinitily don't want this to come across as spammy, but I figured I would let you know about our most recent show with Ken as our guest. The interview last about an hour and it's really good stuff. Again, I deffinitly don't want this to be an annoying post -just figured you guys would really appreciate this one.

    Here's the blurb:

Ken Levine, co-founder of Irrational Games and lead designer of BioShock, joins us to discuss his latest venture. Other things covered in the interview include Ken’s feelings on some anticipated 2007 titles, the potential for a new Thief game (and whether he even likes stealth games to begin with), his feelings on a hypothetical System Shock 3, the deal with Irrational’s Australian studio and how it affects BioShock, his personal design philosophies, what sets BioShock apart from the FPS flock, and much more!

Join us for an hour long chat with one of the industry’s most unique game designers.

    Enjoy guys!
    -Mark

Don't worry, I'm sure it won't be viewed as spam - just some more Bioshock info for all the nerds who'll lap it up (myself included).

I recommended this guy post here btw.

Wow! Ken talking about a possible new Thief game, lot's of stuff about BioShock... Thanks for the podcast! I'll go and listen to it right now.

Dylan, where have you seen Elizabeth? Based on her post here and her podcasts, she must be a nice girl; and she's good lookin' too? This industry is attracting more and more beautiful women.
edit: Just finished the podcast, I got it now. Not a lot about BioShock but the fact, that they've got a lot more in store for us in the game, is good to know.

And Elizabeth, can you give a hint about the goodies? Oh, and I'm dying for the new video too. But anyway, thanks for that homepage, you guys really care about gamers.

Very attractive, loves video games, and is providing awesome information and content on the video game I'm excited about more than any other.

Yup, perfect woman. Someone get the cloning machine!

Awesome podcast too. I loved when Ken started talking about God of War 2.

Excellent podcast! Very entertaining and there was loads of stuff that I found fascinating like some LG history and of course what goes on in the mind of Ken Levine. Elizabeth rocks, as usual.

Very interesting. Much better than the last one, which I found a little dissapointing.

Still filled with hope for Bioshock. It's sounding better by the minute

His last interview was disappointing, or our last podcast?

    oh noes, ken hates stealth/sneaking

Nice podcast, I haven't listened to any other BS related ones in order to avoid too much information (or the same over and over), but since this covered ss and thief stuff too I figured I'd go for it.

She really is beautiful (currently eating my heart out).

I think they were indicating that there's not going to be another Thief, but to be honest that doesn't worry me that much since I didn't think Deadly Shadows was all that great. Archery without parabolic flight was a minor heresy. It's just not Thief without parabolic arrows, it's just not. It was like a Thief-themed shooter-- all the flavour of Thief but just not really Thief. And no Mechanists or vine arrows? Plus far too much of the Pagans and the street scenes were maddeningly frustrating.

    It makes me sad.

Me too. Playing Deadly Shadows made me sad. I only keep a copy for the first few missions because it's quite nostalgic. I think the Thief series peaked at Thief 2, it's a shame they can't make something true to that incarnation of the series (and drop the pagans in favour of the mechanists.)
