I believe this is a new video. Just posted on Gamespot:

All I can say is wow.

That's like a half-dozen kinds of wow.
(edit) and three distinct flavours of near-impossible badass
wow...that was awesome!
if anyone nabs a link to download it in high def (without having to register/pay) please share
wow just wow...
Impressive to watch, really addictive. Too bad it was obviously played with a controller in hand.
Anyway, if the gameplay is that dynamic throughout the whole game, that may just be the killer game we have been waiting for.
I'm dubious about the grenadier at the end though. I mean, sure, it was awesome and helped finish the fight in a big boom, but was he merely passing by and hearing a fight, or was he added by the adaptive game system as an element to help the player finish the big daddy ? If the latter, I hope it won't be too obvious for each big fight. (Or was he added by the devs to show an example of use for telekinesis ?)
burning teddy bear.
great stuff. Graphics are really incredible too.
it's possible they spawn enemies to set up situations like this for the demo. Like at the beginning it seems like the little sister and big daddy appear as soon as your enemy dies, right around the corner.
quick impressions-
Man, I'm glad to see the player moves faster now.
The attention to detail is amazing. Can't wait for a higher res version, but the hopscotch, the teleportation effect, the cyst- hell, the entire environment are fantastic looking. Even the way the little sister scoots that bench up behind her at the end is impressive. There's tons of little touches, the way the splicer kicks the corpse to see if it's dead while searching it. Top notch.
Couple things I didn't get- the whole application of the gland...looks like constant pressure is required? Actually it looks maybe like the cyst is the standard activation of several abilities.
It also looked more like a security override than a true hack.
At one point during the fight with the big daddy, it shoots in the wrong direction- that was really cool- as if it was stunned, or disoriented.

That looked pretty damn great, but it leaves me with the impression that killing off Big Daddies could be a major resource waste? I know I'm making that observation in a vacuum, but he sure took a crapload of abuse before going down.
Is anyone else getting it at a crawl? I'm managing 11kB.
I felt terrible for the Big Daddy. He seemed so honorable and desperate. I was hoping he would kick the player's ass.
Something tells me that's one o' them there choices you have to make make.
Nice video. The scenery is insane. Animation too. I wonder what Bioshock unfamiliars make of it. They're being pretty economical with explaining what's going on. I think that's a good thing, myself. This video is pretty illustrative. If it's clear enough is the question.
I still think Big Daddies should open up if you level a weapon at them or the little sisters. Unless there's some in game outcome that prevents players from taking a sneaky shot, running the hell away and the coming back to pick up the body once things cool off (like the BDs picking up the body and carrying it around like a kitten shaped cookie, splicers quickly swooping in to claim it etc. hopefully this is the case)
That was awesome video!
Though that "hacking" was really weird.
guess we know how you'll play the game
I have a feeling we're not seeing the whole scope of how things are 'hacked' just yet. Perhaps you need to pick up peripherals to hack things in a 'point and click' manner as we saw in the video. Somehow pulling a lever and making machines magically turn to your side seems a little arbitrary compared to what we've seen of everything else. That was awesome video!
Though that "hacking" was really weird.
I really doubt the adaptive game system put that guy to "help you"... not only cause it would be kind of exagerated for the adaptive game system and also because he could kill you if for some reason you can't use telekinesis (lack of plasmids maybe?) or you simply weren't paying attention to the grenades.
I think the whole video was really cool, and at last we have a game that fire really burns stuff it touches.
The one critic I have is the "grenader's" AI. I mean, he shot one grenade, and the player used it for his own benefit (and could also use it against the grenader), then why keep throwing grenades over and over again? If the guy had at least some brains, one or at top two grenades would be enough for him to realize it's not the best way to kill the player (cause that's what he wants right?), and also to realize that the grenades could be used against him. I'm giving an idea; what about if he changes the attack or tries something else when his grenades don't work? (a trigger for his AI when the player takes no damage or the grenades explode somewhere they weren't thrown). He could try to come closer, or maybe hide somewhere near and when you pass surprise you with a grenade, or maybe keep his grenades longer in his hands so they explode sooner when thrown, I don't know! just something smarter than doing the same uneffective (and posibly backfired) attack over and over again!
Wow, either this video is crazy popular, or Gamespot is having problems. I'm downloading at dial-up speeds.
A free, faster download link to the high res version would be super!
poor little thing all alone in the world now... I do hope there's another option of getting in close with them besides *killing their protectors* wouldn't it be strange if you had to kill their only friend in order to get the chance to prove your good intentions? o_O
other then that, dynamicly spreading fire! goddamn creepy powers and nuttyness! To be honest... I kinda miss the HUD and all the stats and such, but I'll live, there will be much more then a handful of powers after all right? right?
oh, also did I see the doctor guy whip the table at you? (presumably with telekenesis?) that's sweeeet~~~
I don't know about the hi-res version, but I've uploaded the low-res video to youtube for those who started downloading later.
Youtube link
Ha! I got twice dialup speeds!
Edit: I just noticed a possible anachronism! You can see a set of glowing things with the Biohazard symbol as as the player enters the Medical Pavillion. Apparently the symbol was developed in the 1960's making its appearance in the isolationist Rapture unlikely, especially as the shit really hit the fan on New Year's 1959.

I'm speechless.
definitely of two minds about not applying at 2k as a tester back in September. And who knew that flaming teddy bears could be such effective weapons?
Of couse, when you enter Parliament, you will all also be ripped to the teats on fine cocaine...
Nice, very nice. Loved the animation and the level design.
Anyone get the hi-res version? How do the normal maps look?
Well I finally got to see the video, and it's been well worth the wait. It's great to see the attention to detail, there's a hell of a lot more stuff all over the place in comparison to the area we saw in the e3 video, and the place looks so much more busy and atmospheric. I like that some of the glitchiness in the graphics that we saw in the e3 video really looks solid now, especially the shadows, which are fantastic. There are sharply defined shadows of the character models, and the more fuzzier soft shadows of things in the environment. What I love is that the shadows are actually making a difference now - you can really tell what a character is doing just from their shadow, and this is shown a few times in the demo. The water looks great as always though there's only fleeting glimpses of it.
I guess now we've seen what the beginning of the game is like - doesn't the starting point look like where you enter Rapture from? I love the glass tunnel, it's a great way to just bombard you with visual flash, the signs and lights and view of the buildings in the distance - very nicely done. I think the shininess and bloom of everything that we've been complaining about isn't that bad when the game is in motion, though I do find the shiny reflection on the walls a little annoying - that effect is oldhat now, it should really be more subtle and less used and moreover only on some materials like metal. The decals from bullets hitting the floor at the end of the video are cool too, though I was disappointed to see them disappear so soon.
Another great improvement is the sound, there's a lot more ambience, stuff happening in the background that adds a lot to the atmosphere.
I like how difficult it is to take down the Big Daddy (even considering how bad a shot the player was ). The splicer was pretty damn cool, I frickin' love how he first pushed that table towards you - I hope there'll be more situational awareness like this, because it makes them a lot more believable if they can take account of things that are near them and react to them, so that every battle isn't just the same kind of behaviour in a different location, but different behaviour depending on the location. Suppose there was a Big Daddy and Little Sister rambling along behind you, minding their own business when the table you just dodged come crashing into them? That splicer'd have more than he bargained for.
This video really made me wonder the reason for the delay, this game is still half a year away from release, which is a heck of a long time considering the state the game looks to be in. It can be nothing but good news.
btw, here's a Gametrailers link for those getting horrible speeds from Gamespot, but it's a user-upped vid so it's not downloadable.
Vraptor7
Stalker trailers from 2003/2004 looked like they come from the nearly finished game either. Some goes for DNF trailers.
Yeah, if there's anything I want to ask devs about then it's whether the scene of Splicer pushing table toward player is dynamic or not.
Holy mother of God, that was outrageously good. I'm going to have to watch it again, I think
Huh, I just realised that video has no HUD.
I'm totally shocked !
It's far more than I expected from BioShock in the action side. I wouldn't complain if BioShock was as medium-paced as System Shock 2, because it fitted very well, but now I believe when Ken said FPS 2.0 !
Nothing to throw to the bin in this footage :
- as beautiful as an uchronical hell could be,
- some scripted stuff but I'm not disappointed because they're mixed with impressive dynamical stuff (If you remember this video was displayed to the press at X06, you can imagine the sequence has been logically storyboarded a bit)
- details, details... from signs of "life's been here before" all over the place to the dark steam mixed with sparks when security bots wake up. It's impressive how far they've gone in giving life to rapture !
