You should read about that ring in a book in Shadowspawn's area. Keep exploring.

This post now repeats my previous post (now that I've edited the previous one):

For people using Garrett Loader and getting the "-2147217833(80040e57)" error, the fail-safe solution is to simply play through DarkLoader and you won't get the error.

If you still want to play through GarrettLoader, I have a test file that may solve the problem. But it needs confirmation.

You can find the links here: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthrea...97#post1572997

I don't see any switches (on the floor or ceiling) and I need to take that dude (burrick boy) with asthma to a doctor quick!

edit: nevermind - went into dromed and found it....

Check out the back wall of the hallway, going away from the pool, particularly along the floor.

that one fused me a lil too.....
    spoiler:
Lean inside the door and look left - there's a switch to open the doors.
    spoiler:
Later you have a deja vu moment and there's an invisible floor panel jumping to left far corner from the door. You have to jump over to it & quickly shoot a rope arrow in the ceiling and jump on to it before the floor falls away...

For the math problem ... This is the method to solve it, not the answer itself (for those that just need a nudge).

First, for those that don't know English very well, a palindrome means the number is the same forwards and backwards, for example the number 123321, or like the word racecar.

As for the problem, there are only so many prime numbers between 11 and 97 (21 of them to be exact). Google "prime number list" and you'll find a list of them (like this) if you don't want to figure them out. Then just look at one palindrome pair after another (e.g., 1111, 1331, 1771, 1991, 2332 ... etc) and you will see the answer sooner than you might think.

As for how "x-y=y-1" works, it's simple algebra. To take one example, for 3113, x=31, y=13, and to figure it out in three steps: (1) 31 - 13 = 18; (2) 13 - 1 = 12. (3) since 18 does not equal 12, you know it's not 3113. Keep doing that for each number you get above.

I do a little work in the last month or two and people slide over the previous 23 months.

I was flattered by that comment, but to be honest with so many authors in this FM, everybody really deserves a pat on the back for making this unique thing come to be ... but especially, if anyone deserves special thanks it's Vlad, who spent the most time over the long haul and did the heaviest lifting overall to get this thing working.

    Prison

Can anyone tell me how to "go to prison" and also how to enter SlyFoxx's area? (The door beyond the tree beasts and ape beasts.) I cannot seem to find keys anywhere. Thanks.

The prison is in Random_Taffer's area. If you haven't gotten into Sly's area yet, then you can't get to R_T's area yet. So don't worry, you haven't missed it.

As for getting into Sly's area: look very carefully at the steps below the door and you'll see something that will help you get in.

For both of these, check out the gold pencil holder on the table next to the unopened closet, and that will solve both the safe and closet problem.

how am i suppost to leave that area,
After opening the safe you should have seen a scroll saying the exit is where the angel ascends. Do you remember where you saw a big angel? (while you were coming in...) I think you do because you said you "doubled back". You were right to go all the way back to that angel, but you didn't look around enough. It's not a dead-end. Check out around the area where you found the switch that opened up the angel in the first place.

    poison_the_well,

All of your problems are related: You haven't found Otto's area yet. It's in Flecha's area. You need to go down the (east?) alleyway where you first saw the two archerers and inside it has some zombies, haunts, and Otto's area is inside a portcullus. When you get there all should be illuminated.

    How do I leave the
    spoiler:
courtyard, where the mechs (and the tiara) turn up after frobbing the masks?

Excellent FM, the zombie movements freaked me out! (a lot of other things too...)^

EDIT: Problem solved, just frobbed the masks a second time.

No, you did the right thing in jumping into the water, like the scroll said. The current should carry you to a tunnel which teleports you back to the entryway. It could be that you are getting stuck on a corner ... move around until the current catches you again and carries you to the tunnel at the end.
