T2 FM: Five Tigers: HBS Iron Butterfly (April 2, 2007)

Five Tigers: HBS Iron Butterfly is now available for download.

In this adventure, you play as Nekosan, a master thief who has been commissioned to steal a set of fabled jewels known as the Five Tigers. Each stone is held by a different noble family: Eye of the Tiger by the Walkers, Claw of the Tiger by the Evans, Heart of the Tiger by the James, Shadow of the Tiger by the Agees, and Soul of the Tiger by the Boles. Each family has the gem locked in a vault which cannot be picked, and the lords keep the only key with them at all times.

According to your employer, four of the families have booked passage on the maiden voyage of the HBS Iron Butterfly. They will board the ship on June 22 and spend the night. The ship will leave port for a two week cruise at noon the next day. You need to break into the shipyard, find information about the stateroom assignments, find the four lords on the ship, and make wax impressions of their keys.

You should also, of course, steal everything you can get your hands on.
Note: You cannot pick up any of the keys you find in the mission. You need to do something else with them.

    Thanx Catman.

There's a little problem with the sound in the game though, Catman, when turning in certain directions in some locations very loud mechanical and human footsteps (and sometimes speech) can be heard. I've had to turn the sound down low in order to play.

Bonus points for naming this after one of the best American psych-rock bands of the sixties.

This level is huge! The scale of it all is so large it took me a while to get used to it. I'm stuck near the end, though.

    spoiler:
I can't find Walker's dead wife. His letter said that her body was under the bow of the ship, but I can't find her there. In fact I don't see her anywhere under the ship or anywhere else in the water. Did I miss something that would trigger her corpse to appear or am I just blind?

Pretty fun mission though, good readables, and lot's of loot!

I've done everything, including finding Catherine Walker and now we're back where I started and the game won't end. Great game.

Ok, I found her, and I'm back at the starting point, but the game won't end for me either. Oh well, still had fun.

    Vincent and Spyrano:
Dump her body next to the gate with the guards. (objective will tick)
Then Walk towards the door to the main terminal building. Objective should then tick.

I agree. This has got to be the largest, most spread out level I have seen since I can't remember when. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. I like the levels a little more confined than this. Just my personal taste. I wondered around this mission for a very, very long time last night and didn't get one objective to tick off.

Where is Lord Walker's wife?? Used up all my breath potions looking for her. Am I too, missing something?
    Please and thank you.

Good mission. Lots of fun exploring around the ship and finding all the naughty secrets in diaries.

    She aint in the water.
That was my first assumption and I spent half an hour looking around.

Just to the left of Stateroom 1 Window that she was dumped out of, along the stone wall, is a sewer tunnel. Go into it and follow the loot trail.

    Missing secrets

I'm enjoying this. I'm playing on expert, and have got most objectives met including all four wax key impressions. But so far I've only got 9,470 loot (I need 10,000), and only
    spoiler:
    4 out of the 8
secrets. Presumably the missing secrets will help. This is so big a mission that going back everywhere to hunt for secrets is a bit daunting. Can anyone post a list here please?

I have to congratulate Catman for the detailed maps he took the time to make. That, and the meticulous detailing of his FM. While very large in scope, it was fun and adventurous.

Thank you for making this for our enjoyment. Lots of work went into it.

Wow....I just started playing this mission and it looks to be huge for its file size. 24mb unzipped though. I counted around 6 or 7 maps ( thanks for including them , they will be very helpfull in navigating this bohemouth)! I guess I better get comfortable. I'll just pull up my recliner in front of my telly, put a board across the arms for my keyboard and mouse and enjoy. Thankyou to the creator for what must have been an enormous ammount of work.

I played this one yesterday. Came up about 1000 short of loot on expert but called it a day. I look forward to continuing the story in the future.
