Just so you all know - we play on using 'temporary' forums for 'big' games that you all seem really excited about. Once interest in a game died down the threads will be moved to General Gaming and the forum deleted.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R seems like a good game to try it out on
If it turns out to be a big hit then we can keep it as a subform of Gen Gaming

Fantastic idea, gents.
Yay !!
C.O.O.L.!
E.D.I.T.: Oh, btw, one dot is missing from the forum group title. There's supposed to be a dot after the L, ya know...![]()

EDIT2: I meant "after the R" of course, but it's too late now.......

I've been looking at this game recently, and now since it seems to be popular with a few TTLG members, I think ill go out and buy this game when I have the cash!![]()
You won't regret it.![]()
Good plan. That megathread is too...well,MEGA.I just got the game, after getting it to run (low settings) and applied the updates we will see.Even on low settings it looks pretty good.
Oddly enough, it's already going for $20-$30 on eBay (including shipping).
post-release discussion starts here.
Great idea.![]()

i paid closer to $35. a lot cheaper than i'd expected.
Stalker was down to $30 at the local wal-mart within a week of it coming out. Wonder why.
I got the collectors edition for $100 in New Zealand. Funny thing actually. I got CnC 3: Kane Edition at the same time and paid $110 and was hugely disappointed with the packaging side things as compared to Stalker.
CnC 3 came with only a dvd case, the manual and a cardboard slipcase for the extra features dvd. Stalker, on the other hand, was fantastic, with the metal case and the goodies inside.
You talk like the packaging is important or something. You are buying a game, the box is hardly doing you any favor other than carrying the stuff you paid for, which is a disc(s) and merchandise if you bought a SE version.
Well if you getting the collectors edition, you're doing it for more than just the game![]()
WoW !!! A S.T.A.L.K.E.R. forum !!! Glad I spotted it!
I have the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Radiation Collector Edition. Glad I got it. Amongst the extra stuff inside is a DVD and one of the things on the DVD is lots of images of the real place. Hundreds of photos. From both before the incident and after. Gives a good sense of real history. Then when I see them in the game .... Very cool. The real garbage dump. The real rusting vehicles. The real ferris wheel and ruined buildings and trains. Good stuff on the bonus DVD. I didn't want just the game.

i confess i bought the collectors for the zone map and description book.
but i got it for 20pounds upon release and do not miss one penny.
I never watched/explored the second dvd.....so you say it's good...hmm,
will try out at home. Usually I hate those xtra-dvds with making ofs and interviews. they are like those other bad 2nd discs in DVD collectors editions,
mostly shameless propaganda with low production values.
I mostly want artbooks but since those more difficult to make (and maybe cost more) they are the exception.
btw: since STALKER ClearSky is on the horizon, make this forum permanently temporary please
more of an oxymoron really..
If it turns out to be a big hit then we can keep it as a subform of Gen Gaming
Solid game- voting for permanent forum status.
This forum isn't exactly active, but I think it should be permament. With Clear Sky in development it has a bright future.![]()
