    http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture/bdfigure.html

I am so excited about this. I hope you are, too.

PS: Disclaimer. Prototype coloring is always off. When I get the finished piece in, I will update with pictures showing the final paint job.

Awesome, that's a great deal larger than I was dreading it would be.
Looks like 15 to 20 cm?

Are those your hands on there, Elizabeth?

I wish the pose was more dynamic. Well, actually, I wish the figurine was an art book, but hey.

The pose is a little flaccid, though. I'm glad to see it's bigger than I had assumed. Also the detail's pretty nice.

The final one needs a plug for a 60 Watt bulb under the helmet for instant disco inferno.

No more chasing each other around in here. You'll end up knocking something over.

Yeah, the figurine looks really good so far. As stated above, I'd like to see a more dynamic pose for the final. Possibley more hunched over and lurching. But that level of detail is really impressive.

Oh by the way, it's hilarious to see all the pretentious elitist gamers turn in to the 3 Stooges when 2k Elizabeth comes around.

as much as i appreciate the work and enthusiasm by Elizabeth I must still say: pretty average like i expected

I worked in an comic book store of a friend and there's only
so much you can do with a "small" budget and
    Position/Posing
    intermediate detail
are the first things to get sacrificed / neglected and this
seems to be the case here. I know, it's a prototype and
coloring aint final but judging from the detail of the model - thumbs down

Coloring itself can rescue an average model but if you go for a really
good paintjob you have to manually paint ALL the models in at least 4 stages
and that would make the cost of one model 3x the price of the LE.

I'm glad you like it and I think it's perfect for those who voted
for the figurine cause they wouldn't see any flaws in anything
but it won't be nowhere near the quality you
    could achieve for this size.
you should have sold the rights to McFarlane Toys they will put out an
10x better model in much higher amounts and size and everybody would be happy.

I say all of this because:
I'm still totally in rage that there will be NO ARTBOOK.

Sorry, I need no making of DVD. everyone with half a brain should
know about now how a videogame gets made.

ah, just forget everything i said.....

    Maybe not you.
Remember that this isn't supposed to be a documentary, it'd just be a DVD to show us how Bioshock was made. I for one would love to watch that.

well, you will see all the pretty artwork which should have been in
an artbook and then you will see a bunch of people SITTING
INFRONT OF COMPUTERS photoshopping, mayaing, wireframing and coding.
I, for me, can't think of that as quality entertainment.

but please, i wanna be proven wrong. i hope that will be the
    MakingOfDVD TO RULE THEM ALL

I think the people who are programming, modelling, animating, etc. will talk to the camera too.

    [sarcasm]
it was such an inspirational and engaging teameffort...
we are really proud to be part of .....
the focused creative vision has been able to ....
the whole team was so amazing....

    certainly there will be no:

All the good features I suggested have been cut.
this game has been so nerfed it isn't even funny anymore
that one week, 2 guys almost left the company, the following happened....

mothra, we get you're upset. You've mentioned it several times already. There is no need to do so again. Do you see what I'm getting at?

i did my sarcasm tags and thought it was good for a laugh.
I tried no to insult anybody or to use cusswords.
I think there is nothing wrong with my posts, if you read all of mine,
you will see that the fanboy-posts far outweigh my "negative" posts
about the contens of the LE.
of course, like MANY discussions here, it is obsolete cause we/I have
no influence on the outcome of things.

Well, you are angry that there isn't gonna be an artbook, but there is no need to rant it out by throwing poop at the figurine.

It's true that that pose could have been more dynamic, though.

He's got his big hand sort of flaccidly hovering, and his drill-bit held up a little menacingly, and then, like one of those monsters in a low-budget movie that stands there growling while the hero approaches -- wearing a costume too bulky to move in -- it's almost as if he's waving the hero in, saying: "alright, now you come to me."

Sort of funny actually. I still have a nice place for him on my shelf. I like him more than dislike him, especially b/c I can tell that story. Gives him some charm.

if the figurine would have been good in my opinion, I would have said that,
no matter if I wanted the artbook or not. I try to not rant about those
things only for rants sake. well,
let's bury the hatchet, I agree of course with everybody that the extra effort
by 2k+Irrational is almost unprecedented and very appreciated.
They were and remain of course in my "cool" book

I think the "defeated pose" would look great. It was in one of those videos. The rather short one just panning around Rapture's indoors.

Ah yes, right here around 00:30.

BTW The current prototype to me doesn't look quite so applealing. It looks like the wolf trying to catch the piglets. Agreed about the sixty watt bulb I'm just glad they are thinking this one instead of the Rosie one.

EDIT.. Yeah, maybe the pose I suggested above ain't so great afterall. Also the steam coming out of it is a big part of the image. Well, can't be bothered to erase it now.
