That seems to happen quite frequently in the later stages of the game. After a while, all mutants appear as friends after being killed.

can you play AMK on 1.005 as well ?
I got the steam version now as well and it's on 1.005.
so I only tried OblivionLost and PriboiStory up until now.
OblivionLost will incorporate a few things of AMK for its ver2.00
(or already did: crazy grenadier mod) but until then I would like to try out AMK. I heard stalkers can now loot bodies and hunt for artifacts ?

I didn't like OL at all, but AMK is amazing. NPCs loot corpses, stashes, items, artifacts off the ground, they sell things at the trader etc. They call for help on the radio, they leave things for you at the trader if you help them, they announce deaths, sightings groups of enemies, mutants, fire fights, when blowouts will happen, what the weather is like, or if they find fancy items and they have better they sometimes announce that they're selling it. They also throw granades (which is super deadly and forces you to move instead of camping and picking them off) and use medkits. I probably left a bunch of things out.

There's also a great "rare stash" option where you rarely find a stash but when you do it's always worth getting it ASAP - i.e. unique weapons, powerful artifacts, etc.

You will want to set the blowout interval to something higher than the minimum as I did or the above may happen (since that's when mutants spawn). Set it at least higher than the NPC respawn rate. Otherwise sparsely defended areas like Dark Valley are wiped clean of humans every time a blowout happens.

You'd better edit those pics, since they are too big. Images shouldn't be wider than 800px in TTLG.

it only runs on 1.004 and it's concentrated awesome.
oblivion lost upcoming 2.0 patch will incorporate many things from AMK, this 1.33 version has already a few things. there exist a english version of it and the german oblivion-lost site (fansite for STALKER game, not mod) has a german translation. since I play on the steam version atm I can't fire it up but here a few things:

    - more mutants
    - trading
    - hiteffects, eating, no healing from bandages, exhaustion
up to the effect that you fall asleep in the field
    - sleeping bag
    - crazy grenadier mod: they throw grenades now, awesome
    - extended a-life: better animal behaviour
    - extended stalker-ai: they now put on different suits, change weapons, loot corpses AND STASHES (!!!!), can pull away corpses during firefights for looting
    - you get a backpack to hide your things and store away
    - so you find it again you get GPS markers
    - better weapon bumpmapping and skins
    - different sounds
    - different detectors
    - artifact activation (make your own anomalies)
    - artifact cooking (you can find recepies that tell you what artifact to drop in which anomalie and how long it should stay there) which enables you to create NEW artifacts
    - dynamic missions from other stalkers via an messenger system in the pda (help me out, being attacked by ***)

and so on and so on
    ah, and freeplay
I hope they soon patch up to 1.005 because that mod, oblivion lost, priboi story and the run&gun mod give me almost 3 different games for the price of one

Sounds delighfully awesome (sounds even more like the original specs of the game too). Is rolling back to 1.004 easy or do you have to reinstall?

All these mods reinstating the toohard/not quite working original features of the game. I wonder if anyone's tried or trying to reinstate Co-Op in some form or another? (I wouldn't mind if it's limited to areas like many games and, say, it won't load the next area until everyone has walked through the checkpoint or something)

    works only with 1.004
you have to reinstall STALKER, no downgrading possible from 1.005 or 1.006

there will be coop in priboi story and oblivion lost (maybe) but only with NPCs. it is already done for the freeplay story, a precursor for priboi&ol, it's a additional patch since it doesn't work that good.

guns: don't worry, this mod is HARD
    example:
    1st bloodsucker in agroprom underground:
i had to empty a full clip into his head AND throw a grenade.....

first controller in underground as well: RPG or 2 F1-grenades, even then I sometimes died afterwards from psi damage, so I had to place an artifact at the end of the tunnel and wait for him to kill himself in it.

cordon: 2nd day in cordon, freedom showed up and killed all the bandits for me

sniping: now it got realy realistic. the shot now really behave according to the scope markings

Great, now I do worry. That's just stupid. I don't care that it has thicker skull or whatever, nothing can survive thirty goddamn bullets. Bloodsuckers were too tough as it was, now they're overpowered, plain and simple. I mean make them permanently invisible, or make them steal health with each attack or whatever, but just giving them more HP is lame, period. Their "weak spot" is also bullshit, you can barely hit their head as it is, and now you need your bullet to do 360 and hit them in the back of it.

I'll be definitely playing without these and with PLR's Realistic Weapons. After I mod the shit out of it that is, since he did some really dumb things(like silencers doing more damage and no changes to ammo).

well, monsters are definitely harder witch is ok imo, firefights against humans tend to end quick if you're good but they can inflict the same damage to you. they enhanced bulletdrop a little i think which is good so you don't get headshotted across the map by some lucky stalker with a pistol.
but it's hard against animals, I don't know if I mix it up with the RUN&GUN mod which is trimmed to be the hardest experience (as in frustrating and punishing)

Apart from the flamethrower, it all sounds really really good. I'll have to try it.

I have a few choice pics I'd like to share from some of my recent playthroughs. Some of them are from vanilla Stalker, some are from the ZRP mod, but I can't remember which ones are which.

I think I broke Siderovich, I probably shouldn't have used the teleport function in ZRP.
I think the AI is cheating, just a bit.
Barkeep went for a stroll here.

    Some unusual corpses:
This Stalker is dead on his feet.
This Stalker demonstrates his bitchin' air guitar skills.
Another Stalker shows off his acrobatic skills by performing a cartwheel.
    Super Snork, away!
Sliding down the banister:You're doin' it wrong!
I'd really like to know how he got up here.
This is one fight I'm glad I missed.

And finally, you can sure find some strange mutants in the zone. For example, a half man, half building.

Is that with a graphical improvement mod or am I missing something? Those pictures look much better than any ones I've seen before and the third one looks almost Crysis-quality.

I can't tell if you're serious. 'Cause if you are, wow.

The mod is called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. L.A.R.P.

Serious, I had no idea there was such thing as STALKER LARPing. The last picture was clearly not in game and I assumed it was from a cinematic that I didn't remember, but I swear the first two look in-game to me. Laff away.
