    Stalker pics thread

If you ever saw something that made you mash f12, post em here.

For some reason I never took pictures on my first play through and a hard drive failure ushered the second lot into digital oblivion, but here's a few recentish ones with various mods:

    Garbage hanger just after blowout:

mowing the military's lawn with a jeep:

cordon house - the lighting here looks really nice and diffuse

x18 - one of my favourite looking bits of the game. Found it incredibly tense the first time I played through. Little did I know about the later levels.

One of my usual stashes inside the lab an Yantar. More than 300 artifacts collected, which after sold yeld more than 1M Rubles:

Bloody hell! That's a stash alright.

Two pellicles as well, eh? Considering that was tied with mama's beads as being both one of the rarest and IMO the hardest artefacts to find, I wish it was a bit more useful (and valuable).

The modified groza chambered to use the AK was a weapon that stuck around in my loadout for ages.

The modified Groza is my favourite weapon, and I use it and abuse it. I only ditch it when I finally decide it's time to go to the NPP.

Pellicles aren't that hard to get. You can always get one from Sakharov if you perform the mission of bringing him a Fireball. And those are quite common. Mama's Beads are a lot harder to find. As far as I know there are only three possibilities of finding/getting them. One is near the transition point from the Dark Valley to the Garbage, the other one is given to you by Snitch at the Bar if you kill a Stalker for him, and finally you can find a third one if you're lucky enough to find information about Fang's stash in Pripyat - and this is VERY hard to achieve.

Koloboks are another one of the rarer artifacts. Usually I only find them in a stash at the Red Forest or Yantar.

Man, shots in the first post look so much better than visuals when one plays in static lightning mode that it makes me want to scream.

D'Arcy, are you going to salt all those artifacts or what?

    No idea really...

Guess sometimes its cold in the Ukraine too, but he's still somewhat off

    <3

Some people complain they never see them?

Count the dogs and boars XD

Some neat lighting. Snitch guy sneakily creeping around behind the gate with flashlights on. Looked way better in motion tho >.<

Compression makes them look shitty. Had more but they got lost in the PC upgrade

D'Arcy, you are going to tell me where you find all those artifacts pronto!

The difficult part isn't finding them. I always get a stash like that in the lab at Yantar. I always make sure to clear every stash marker from an area before leaving it, and that usually gives me a lot of artifacts.

The annoying part is actually moving them there. I never sell an artifact to anyone but the scientists. So I accumulate the artifacts in stashes near the transition points, then slowly start moving them to Yantar whenever I can.

He must be using a mod that enables vehicle driving.

I try to clear every stash, but some of them seem to be broken, like the one in the house next to the trader in Cordon. I have never found the stash marked there.

There are at least three stashes in the houses near the trader in Cordon, so I don't know which one are you talking about. But all of them are above the ground, so you might want to look up.

I found two of them. The one in the house nearest to the trader (it's a complete wreck) has the stash I have yet to find. I tried the above-grounds there as well but no sign of the stash.

I think the stash you're talking about is on the rafters.

You need to use the ladder to get up to the rafters, then go to your left. There's a small box there, at the end of the rafter.

    Ok, got it.
By the way, found another problematic stash. The one in the car in military warehouses, very close to the Freedom base. It is supposed to be inside the car but I see no sign of any items that can be opened.

Check the trunk of the car. Sometimes the stash is the car itself, not something inside it (there's also another one like that in the Garbage area).

More mystery-stashes: The one near the tower in Wild Territory. When I step on the marker, there is no sign of a stash, the same for the roof above. It's just a room full of nothing.

Another one is a box between two walls, can't describe where it is exactly but it's also in Wild Territory, that box is empty. I've come across quite a few empty stashes so far.

That's a tricky one, but the stash is there. This image shows where:

    http://stalker.heroesradio.com/Resou...rritory_14.jpg

As for the empty stashes, it seems to be a bug. The markers can remain active if you find multiple informations regarding the same stash (you can delete them by successively loading/retrieving items from them) but with 1.0003 there seems to be a bug where some stashes show up empty on the first time you visit them.

That bug exists in 1.0004 as well, it seems.
And damn, I'd never have figured out that stash. The devs are evil.

Did you install bardaks' fix for 1.0004 from Aug. 24? 1.0004 fixes stashes only partially. After you install bardak's fix and load saved game made pre-fix you'll sometimes need to put/get something to/from stashes you already discovered without the fix and haven't yet emptied to get them to work. With the fix - no lost contents, no more than one use of a stash per game.

i remember i spent 15 minutes hopping around there and ignoring the fight across the heli crash site..... ... when I found it, I cursed myself for not seeing it earlier.

I'll install Bardak's fix, 242. I had completely forgot about it, strangely enough, just installed 1.0004 and began playing.

How did you just ignore the fight near the crash site, mothra? Kruglov can hardly kill all the bad guys on his own.

well, it was on my 2nd playthru

btw: another funny thing in Wild Territory:
if you cross the area before the trainstation you get treated to a cinematic showing you the crashed heli + Kruglov + fire fight via flyover and then zooms back to you.

on my first playthru I did not trigger that animation, I just used the big pipe leading from the last tower (above that dreaded hidden stash) to cross that area and jumped down on the other side, fought all the guys, saved Kruglov, accompanied him to Yantar and returned to the bar.

then again EVERY time I entered the Wild Territory this cinematic was triggered but it just showed the empty site withouth anything happening ?
