Depending on the way it works, it could mean that you run the risk of losing whatever ghost you're hunting if you get incapacitated too many times (a la the 8-bit version).

    Shadowcat - indeed!

That's fine. It's based on a comedy, not war movie.

Dated graphics? At least I can run it properly. Not everything has to look like Crysis.

It worked all right in Republic Commando, I thought.

If I recall correctly, you could lose if your whole team got killed.

It could well be the same in this game: You get automatically resurrected by your team mates. However it is unclear how much control you have over your teammates. The video indicated no control.

Atari have supposedly picked this one up too (another Vivendi-Activision merger casualty).

Until the AI went all dickmode on you leaving you screaming at the TV.

Having said that, a sequel would have been lovely.

Those ragdolls are anything but realistic. Well, if sudden onset rigor mortis were an everday occurrence, it'd be realistic...maybe. And what's this "Synergistic Processing Units" shit anyway. Like we need more buzzwords.

Normally overly verbose tech demonstrations narrated by yet another industry guy who speaks through his nose and does nothing but show off yet more physics tricks off like they were brand new revolutionary things don't phase me much. But this is Ghostbusters, damnit. It deserves so much more.

Ghostbusters now a timed Sony exclusive in Europe

Meh. SCEE are now publishing the PS3/PSP/PS2 versions in Europe for a late June release, with the other platforms presumably coming later in the year. Meanwhile Atari have held onto all American publishing rights, so importing the 360/PC/Wii versions from North America could be a possibility if you can't wait.

The Wii is region-locked as standard, though, so you'd need it to be chipped / ActionReplay'ed.

Ghostbusters for PC has online activation DRM, but all MP features have been removed.

According to leaked box shot images at ecto-web.org, Ghostbusters: The Video Game is set to include 1-4 player co-op, access to leaderboards, and support for game content downloads - at least for the next-gen console versions.

The PC release of Ghostbusters will not include online multiplayer co-op, access to downloadable content, or indeed any online activities at all.

Bust'n makes me feel as good as the next person but I have my doubts about this game. From the various screenshots and previews I've read its looking like a fairly generic and linear third person shooter with little in the way of innovative gameplay. On the positive side the weapons look pretty funky and the game story/dialogue should be good.

So, does anybody have any idea when this comes out for PC?

I'd welcome a brief review, if we have any PS3-ers who already played it.

It came out for the PC awhile ago. I bought it and quit (temporarily) out of frustration over the typical substandard console port issues (shit controls, poor optimization).

I've been meaning to return to it.

In the US, it did. In Europe it is currently a PS3 exclusive with a PC release schedule of 'Q3', 2009.
