On today's episode of Oh I Do Amuse Myself...
I'm using some of Purgator's guard skins and one of them has an eyepatch. So I gave him extremely low accuracy to simulate his lack of depth perception :

Since when can the Dark Engine handle this kind of stuff. Did I miss something in the last 10 years? Looks great! Seriously great

The forum search says your last post was in early 2012, so you might indeed have missed something incredible:

...Well.. You indeed might have missed something...

Lets just say that everything in those screenshots you see, are something dark engine can handle with ease nowadays.

It's not really New Dark though. There's not much technically complex in these screenshots. It's judicious use of textures, objects and lighting that makes it look so good. Good art is good art.

It's really just using the same textures in objects as with brushes.

Yes! There "should" be silver and golden walls reaching up beyond the sky, and countless rope arrow spots and vent shafts to explore, with strictly purple clothed bafford guards down the street.

You build pretty. Can't find any of your missions which seems impossible considering how well you build.

Afraid I've yet to release one. I started making stuff in and for Dromed back in 2003 and - while I've made a number of models that've been used in missions released by others over the years - none of the missions I've worked on so far have been finished. A combination of building very slowly (I've seriously got no idea how some authors make big, complex missions so quickly), spending probably far too much time on details, work and life problems decimating my free time for months at a time, and getting sidetracked by other projects (either computer based, or things like woodwork) mean that I've yet to get anything to the state where it can be beta tested, let alone released. But, I keep coming back, and will get there at some point.

    I wouldn't call it a dump, Jérémy.
It looks rather wonderful from what I can see!

Substance Painter (procedural texturing program) proved to be extremely useful for Dark Engine.

We can get a fully baked PBR, beautiful and without seams.
It is enough to take a screenshot of the right side of the interface where the projection of the model is located on the UVs, then just crop it and resize. So we have ready BaseColor texture with the illusion of PBR: baked highpoly normal, roughness, metallic and occlusion.

Pretty stuff. Will have to give the trial a try, thanks ST.

Eidt: Also good to see something again from gigagooga, The Watcher, and Le MAlin 76. Some of the most enticing screenshots here to date.

I have just been exporting the base color. I will give your method a shot and see if I can get some better metallics ans other materials!

I use clean base color for wood and stone. I also tried blending BC with metallic in Photoshop, and it turned out something like this:

But the screenshot gives the best effect.
