T3 demo: Unknown Temple (cubemap demo 1) Feb. 08/08

Welcome to T3Ed cubemap demo 1!
In this presentation you'll see how Flesh engine can handle cubemaps in its most common application - reflecting the surroundings. Just pull the switch to begin. When the presentation is over, you'll be able to explore this obscure temple. Enjoy

This demo is GarretLoader ready, just install it and press play.

In case you'd like to have something like that in your FM, here you'll find a bit lengthy tutorial.

would it be possible for you (or someone else here) to post a video to youtube, or upload it elsewhere? I don't have T3 installed right now, but I'd still like to see what you've made

I'm don't understand why the install process is complicated, having to rename files and run 7-zip autoextract things?

Is this just to save space? If so, I feel it's a very unwise decision, because ease of use is far more important than saving file size. Even if the file changed from 30MB to 100MB it would be better to make it easy and simple to install.

But if there is some other important reason for it, then I guess we'll just have to live with it.

EDIT - The demo mission is now at Shadowdark:

You can grab a video here (14mb):

Or see it directly here (poor quality):

Yes, the reason was only to save space here because the difference was substantial (50 mb in zip). I already sent and email to Potter asking him about possible 7zip compression library support in GarrettLoader. Unfortunately I'm not a programmer, but I'll look into 7zip's commandline a bit and create some .bat file next time, to facilitate the process. I already found a simple way to make my next demo being uninstalled in a comepletely automatic manner

Okay, would it be possible to get the larger 50MB version then, I'd much rather have that one, thanks

Actually I managed to compress it much better using a classic zip method. Looks like the zip compression in my winrar was a bit buggy (or intentional ). This one is 36 MB, forget about the previous link then

*Uninstalls winrar and swears always to use 7zip, even with zip files*

This small demo is great Judith! Nice architecture, new textures (cubemap) and music. Thank you for your hard work!

Have you already started working on part 2?

Yes I have, this time it will be about detailed shiny surfaces (stones, wood, metals, etc.) Fortunately, this will be much easier to do

    yeah, right.
I forget to mention the LIGHTS !
that are almost Dinamic, so the combo Lights&Textures give more realistic sensations.
I repeat: i'm waiting to see the darkmod to look if there is some improvements from thief3 or if it is equal.

I did not see a T1/T2-style "camvator" sequence or a reflecting surface in T3 missions before, neither in the original campaign nor in fan-created created releases. This is a neat little demo.
