And sexy - don't forget sexy. I've listened to two commentaries so far. The video bit is very dark for me so it's more listening than watching but I haven't tried adjusting anything yet. But really quite hypnotic to listen to. Fascinating stuff. Thank you so much for all the effort put into this. Really appreciate it.

    Now time for Mission 3.

It is nice to see that you guys have been perfectly legit with the material in the Making Of package, including the documents, missions files, and other things. For example for the documents, if you go to the properties for the document file you will see that the last time information was changed in the document was many years ago, some even way back around 2001. You guys have legitimately preserved these great pieces of history, without changing anything.

Mr. Bosnia, you sent me a PM requesting some information...but you don't have PM's enabled...so I can't reply.

Watched the first 6 or 7 commentaries. Great work! They are easily some of the most enjoyable commentaries I've ever listened to. Lots of conversation and background on the development of the campaign.

Oh, and thanks so much for the kind words about my own involvement! It was a pleasure to be part of such a fantastic project.

I have put all the larger "full size" 640x480 vids up at the Keep in a single download package:

    T2X_comment_highres.zip (1.61 GB)

This can be added to the master list of mirrors if wanted

Finally getting around to watching the videos and I am amazed how good they are. You two never let the conversation wane and there are some great insights into creating fan missions. The videos are a great addition to an already legendary campaign.

I have watched the first of the videos and am interested, and will certainly watch the rest when I have time.

However, there are some graphical glitches in many of the movies. I have seen the glitches only when the briefing movie of a mission ends and in-game video appears. In the beginning of the in-game video part, a lot of green squares are displayed. These vanish when a lot of movement occurs (e.g., if the player looks around). It's not much of a problem, just a small nuisance. So... does this happen on my computer only, or do other people see these glitches as well?

Thanks for T2X and thanks for the comments!

I have watched all of the movies now, and want to say Thank you! as well.

Although I will probably never create any Thief mission at all, it's still interesting to hear what the developers were thinking when doing one thing or another, where they got stuck, how they coped with some people joining the project and others leaving it, and all this stuff.

Oh, and by the way... I finished T2X about two years ago, but I think I haven't talked about that either - that's another Thank you, then, for I had much fun with that, even with all these scary vomiting zombies... and that knockout hammer gave me the creeps as well.

And the T2X patch gave me a final reason (or rather, excuse) to put this campaign on the "to be played again" list.

The other stuff in the T2X "Making of" package looks interesting as well, but I will have to look into that more closely when I have more time for that.

Finally watching the movies, and having much fun so far! Thanks for making them! You guys point out a lot I haven't thought about yet, and it proves again making such a project requires a lot of more work and thinking than people assume.

    Yet more thanks

So I've only just discovered the "Making of" downloads - I've been away way to long - and I'm halfway through the Developer Commentaries and I just wanted to say a massive thank you for them.

I find them really interesting and strangely compelling to listen to, just fabulous.
T2X was excellent and such high quality and this just rounds the whole thing off. Would a newcomer ever guess that T2X was done by fans, not Looking Glass?

Slightly OT, but has anyone written "The Story of the Making of T2X"? Or even a "Story of Thief FMs"?

The only thing into this direction which I know is the "Novels and Other" part of the "Fanworks" at Thief - The Circle. A very different version of the well-known Raid on Bafford's Manor (from Thief 1) is stored there as "Kleptomaniac: The Not-So-Bright Project".

Something else I found interesting there is a longer story called "Correspondence of Thieves". It is somehow connected to the story behind the CoSaS missions ("Gathering at the Inn" and "Mission X").

    That would be the fan-fiction.

ianTF, these commentary videos are the only documentary material we have at this time, other than random posts here and there, but no collected documentation and behind-the-scenes collections exist in any complete or releasable form, and certainly not along the lines of what you have queried on.

Painting of the woman in the doorway

    Hey there,
Im new to this forum although Im into thief since back then, right from the start.
Thanks for T2x, enjoyed it a lot!

I have alway been fascinated by the paintings in T1, T2 & T2x, especially this one:

Went through the making-of-package but did not find any info on the pic or the artist. Any help?

P.S. I know the thread on Thief-related art, but I hope this is a better way to get in touch with the developers.

I can answer this for you! It is "Lesbia" by John Reinhard Weguelin.

Seems to work just fine and is the main download page. I'll check all mirror links when I get home and remove any that are dead.

Which links are supposed to be down?

http://www.thief2x.com/download/ looks fine from my corner of the internet..

As does the mirror site http://t2x.agentstepp.com/

Indeed the keep of metal and gold's hi-res link seems to be down, but that is by no means 'all'.

http://t2x.agentstepp.com/ is the very first link and is the only file host that we maintain ourselves. That is you best chance of getting all files related to T2X.

No, it's not. You forgot that we gained full control over thief2x.com >1 year ago? You should have a login to the server somewhere, if not I can dig it up for you..

Indeed I still need to upload the hires avis but the rest is all there.

@malau: sorry, I just assumed these links were posted since they are the goto-addresses for these files. I'm a bit surprised they aren't mentioned anywhere in this thread before..

The only occurrence of those words on the entire 2 pages - are yours.

Thanks for fixing the links up guys. Maybe you could move the link(s) to post #1.
The movies are great, how you could keep talking for so long is amazing, and always have interesting stuff to talk about to. I wish I had known about this stuff 3 years ago.
