Humble Bundle has this promo thing where if you buy or switch to the yearly plan of their monthly bundle, you'll get 25$ of expiring store credit (in 6 months unless you add to it or buy something with it).

That would be a good deal if their bundles hadn't been steadily declining in quality since the IGN buyout, and their last 4 bundles have featured multiplayer-only games as the marquee titles. Combined with their tendency to push games that didn't score too well (under-valued though they may be, often as not), it's a tough sell for a person like me who only dips into MP occasionally.

Yeah, I haven't been too happy with those multiplayer games either. I may give out the keys if someone here really wants those games. (I'm deliberately not mentioning their names here.)

However, even if the standard seems to have dropped a bit, I still think that HumbleBundle is the best thing that has happened in PC gaming for a long time, so I'll definitely consider switching to the yearly plan. I'll get some good games for sure, and at least I'm supporting HumbleBundle at the same time.

Yeah, they still have had games I would have had an interest in buying, like The Pillars of the Earth, Styx, Yooka-Laylee, A Hat in Time, Tales of Berseria, Little Nightmares, Darksiders II, etc... Maybe not all in my A list, but not a bad selection by any means.

Rain World is in the BTA tier of the Humble Dystopian Bundle:

It's absolutely worth a look if you don't mind difficult games. The kind that's really difficult, not the Dark Souls kind of "don't worry, you'll be fine, really" difficult.

With the amount of amateur and otherwise developers on this forum, the latest bundle from Humble may be of some interest:

While the main focus seems to be on 2D Fantasy RPGs, the various sprite sheets, tilesets and sound packs could likely be repurposed for something else or at least used as decent looking placeholders.

Stellaris at 75% off on Steam caught my eye. When I clicked into it, Steam saw fit to inform me that it's similar to FTL and Prey. ...Go home, Steam, you're drunk.

Algorithms are fun. But to be fair, Stellaris does have exploration, resource capture, and aliens as possible identifiers for an algorithm that can't parse genres to get confused over. Also, what genre does FTL fit under? Space roguelike? 2X (Xplore/Xploit)?

Some nice games in the latest Humble Bundle:

    Headlander in 1$ tier
This War of Mine and Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth in BTA tier
Tyranny and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun in the 12$ tier

I would definitely recommend Shadow Tactics to anyone and everyone who likes strategic stealth. But I've probably done that already.

Humble Monthly has a nice initial offer this time: EDF 4.1, Cultist Simulator, and Warhammer Vermintide. Never got into Warhammer, so I can't comment on that one, but the other two are a lot of good fun.

    containing some pretty well-known classics:
    Little Big Adventure 1&2
    The Last Express
    Double Dragon Trilogy

    Karateka remake

and 3 more games I have no idea about:
    Pang Adventures
    Raiden Legacy
    Raptor: Call of The Shadows

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm looking forward to playing the LBA games again, I really loved those back in the day.
Raptor was a super cool 2D shoot-em-up game by Apogee, I only ever played the shareware version of it, but I remember it being really fun.

    Great deal but:
    1. Add to cart.
    2. Register
    3. Your cart has been refreshed.: 0.
    4. Add to cart?
    5. You are only permitted to buy a single copy per order.

Well, whoever set that up needs to be flogged with a wet fish.

Edit: Weird. It logged me out when I registered and that's what triggered the error. The order is back when I log in. Got it now.
    Still dumb.

Edit2: The Mystery Egg bundle is nice. The games are a total surprise, but they're like $10-$30 games for less than a dollar apiece, and things I'd never have found otherwise.
Edit3: Including Civ V, which was worth four times the total price by itself, and I got 11 other games on top of it, all for $8.
    (Also KOTOR 2 and a cross-country driving game/mechanic sim I think I'll like, Revhead.)
