Even if this is still in German, I'm going to give it a shot! Thanks very much.

Edit: Beautiful mission! The architecture is top notch.

I cant finish the mission though due to not being able to read german, as I got stuck on two things:

The gravestone that highlights when you get near it. I have no idea what you are supposed to do.

The small ledge with a nameplate in front of the building with a torch on each side of the door.

Ive tried scouring every inch of the mission but I cant figure it out without english clues apparently.

    Great work!

Search for a secret button not too far away from the starting place (still in the house)

    :)

    SneakyJack,

next to the cemetery in the house is a book that says something like:

    page1:
The Priests are building a cemetery next to my house. Are they out of their minds?
    page2:
Today a crafter of fire arrows was buried; however the Priest did not cleanse the gravestone with holy water.

    Hope it helps.

    ....... caropr

ps... i'm stuck trying to find second key or item to be placed in cathedral.

Yes, all readables still blank. Is it so hard to actually test this before releasing?

I'm sure Theker's working on it, but if you don't want to wait, I've found a workaround for the readables.

Go into the "books" directory of your Thief2 installation after you have installed the FM.

Notice how most of the files are named "Text 1.str", "Text 2.str", etc...
Rename every 'Text' file and remove the space between the "text" and the number. Thus "Text 1.str" becomes "Text1.str".

I am guessing that internally, the FM database does not accept filenames with spaces and may have implicitly removed them during the building phase.

That just made things worse - now the 'parchment' is an endless number of pages, and the game crashes out when you look at any plaques.

    -- edit --

Hey, that made me double check - the "page 0:" parts are missing from texts 1,2 and 4-6. Also, texts 5 and 6 appear to be reversed, and text 5 SHOULD have the space while the others should not...

Here's my version - this works fine for me.
    http://rapidshare.com/files/13250199...tilanguage.zip

I also took the liberty of punching up the translation text in a few spots. Needed some humor and felt 'silly' having just a line or two of text in some spots.

Keep in mind: I am running the very latest upload that Theker posted a few posts above, and do not see this behavior. Plaques & readables are fine with no crashes.

My "str" files do not have these missing "page 0:" indicators so you might simply be using an older version.

This is the upload I used.

Of course, it would have helped if I had played it before assuming the existing translations were correct, much less attempting to add to the text

The cemetary isn't 'below', it's in front of... Because it said 'below' I assumed the text meant a crypt. Appears the hammer church is abandoned so it's mechanists - that could be used in the guy complaining about the priests to better effect. "I tell you, things ain't been the same since the gearheads showed up."

-- edit -- Ok, played it through. The switch for the attic was kind of tricky, and the need to fit two boxes in that narrow space was kind of tough too. Felt like something that should have been a secret, not an essential part of playing it through. The rest of it was fairly well thought out for a small level, though the boss fight at the end was kind of pointless.

First, it was a boss fight, those universally suck (and have no place in a game about avoiding confrontation), second it was so dark you could hardly call it a fight. Sitting there behind him hacking away without even being hit back or the opponant even having a chance to strike back was kind of... Meh.

Would have been more interesting to make the beasty invulnerable, then have those colored smokes on the floor need to be hit with each type of arrow to take him down - that's actually what I was trying to do at first.

so, which one is *official* link with fully-working/tested (and confimed fully-working) English translation? It's getting confusing with all these links posted and varied reports.

Hmm, can't find one of the items needed in the church. I have found the Hand of truth. By looking at the files in the mission i can see that i have to find the Hand of lies but i'm clueless.

    Please spoil me.
