John Carpenter's Lost Themes, his first non-soundtrack album, although it definitely sounds like a collection of themes for classic films that were never made -- hence the title. The cyberpunk synth-ness is through the roof, and it sounds amazing.

    John Carpenter - Vortex

    John Carpenter - Night

Since discovering Spotify (yes yes, late to the game etc...), I've been re-visiting the music of my youth.
Never really got into the aesthetic of MM or the OTT "I'm so evil" lyrics, but the musical quality is fantastic. This one in particular is a fantastic rock piece when you strip away the pretence. Can't beat the sheer rhythm of it.

I have this completely stuck in my head. Loving the bombastic vocal stabs. Now bow to your alien overlords!

@Athalle: Great song! I have been a big fan of Archive for years. I think my favorite album is Londinium but I like them all.

Yeah, that was great! I love them. Reminds me of when I was 15.

Austrian band Bilderbuch released their third album "Schick Schock" in February. From this album the track "Plansch".

I'm really enjoying some of the music from Sons of Anarchy at the moment:

Starts out super derivative and then becomes something really quite good. Production is edible.

Not bad. Nice use of the Peter Gunn sample.

Gave the Shamir album a listen today. I'd only heard the On The Regular single previously so I was expecting a hip-hop album, surprised (pleasantly) at the breadth of it. Wasn't expecting anything like this...

"Tell the bartender I think I'm falling in love."

Not very new, but very catchy.

I liked Roisin Murphy's last album, Overpowered, a lot. But I'm having kind of a hard time with Hairless Toys. It's not as instantly catchy as Overpowered, for sure, and I probably need to give it a few more spins to sink in. Hoping to come around on it since I'll be seeing her live at Wilderness festival in the UK in a couple of weeks.

Listening to the greatest "remix" I've heard in forever:

Also been listening to some Sleaford Mods (christ, I thought LCD Soundsystem had a Mark E Smith hardon), but I'll keep it quiet before the UK folks come around to scold me.
