Breaking all my elitist snob rules

First, I want to make certain important details perfectly clear.
One, I'm not a fan of this genre.
Two, I'm not a fan of this artist. Most of her other songs I dislike.
Three, I generally hate all music in all TV adverts ever.
Four, I never ever hear a song in a TV advert and think "oh, this is wonderful, I need to hear more of this".

    However,

There's something in this song that immediately spoke to me. Probably the somewhat odd chord sequence, or the slightly off-kilter melody, or the vaguely relatable lyrics, so for once, I actually had to Google "what song is used in the TV ad for..."

But it's a really good song.

I can't actually remember what the TV ad is for. I tune out when I hear the song and stop paying attention. In that sense, it's a terrible choice for the advertiser. But it makes me slightly happier.

I remember the first time hearing Zee Avi's Honey Bee in a commercial and thinking (IIRC) that this song is so special, even being in a commercial can't diminish it. It's on a level all its own, like all classic & magical songs are. Edit: There's a chance that I'm completely imagining that I heard it in a commercial though.

The other ones that come to mind are a Pomplamoose tune, that "apple of my eye" tune, a few others that were in commercials but far above that level... I'll have to look them up.

This commercial was the first and only time I heard a song for the first time I liked on one but it gives me a Mandela effect. In the commercial I recall she was leaning back in the seat moving very minimally as street lights swept across the windshield. It was a much cooler less trying hard and looking goofy commercial.

Awwww come on Gray, you're a pop fan. Quit posing!

Yeah, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has some bangers.

    ANYWAY

Spotify wrapped says I'm in the 3% listeners this year (had to go right to bandcamp and atone for my sins) and that Swedish rock band Viagra Boys are my artist of the year. Y'all heard these guys?

    Wonderful.

I remember that ad being super goofy, but that's mostly because of the Chappelle sketch:

When I think of ads with good music for some reason the first things that come to mind are Volkswagen using Psychic TV and Nick Drake in their 90's commercials.

Oh yeah, and Trio. How could I forget this one.

    Wonderful.
I spent the last two days wondering what the everloving fuck this song reminded me of, because it had the cadence, delivery, and locomotion of another song that had worn a groove into my brain when I was a kid, but everything else about it remained elusive. Until this second. And do you know what that song is? WELL, DO YOU!!??

    Yeah.

oooooooh it's LIKE THAT is it? I'm familiar with that song, but I never connected it to the Viagra Boys track. But yeah, now that you point it out I hear the similarity.
