I listen to radio on my commute (1 hr. each way), so I hear lots of music...but that doesn't count.

The last song I listened to on purpose, of all things, is one of the first songs I heard when I starting going out to bars. The bartender at one joint (who I met the following year in college & is one of my best friends) made mix tapes on reel-to-reel, and I heard ELO's "Fire On High" come on shortly after I walked in.

I was driving home last week & just had that song leap into my head. I played it when I got home & had to turn it up to 11 to quiet the beast within.

I know a lot of people have a lot of love for Sung Tongs, but I think Strawberry Jam might be their best album.

    atmospheric song of the decade

That and now Explosions in the sky - catastrophe and the cure
The sequence that starts around ~4:30 is nothing short of angelic.

    Never gets old.

I wish someone would piss in Maynard's corn flakes so that he could write in anger a bit more.

Thanks. That and I Walk Beside You are the first Dream Theater songs I ever heard, courtesy of my brother. Now I've got songs from two or three albums on my mp3 list.

I was listening to Violet Hill and Viva la Vida, but then I fell in love with something else entirely that came on the radio.

    Maula Mere Maula

It's a Hindi song (Urdu, actually), so YMMV. To me, it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, language regardless.

Somehow, getting into the car and driving has become a mental trigger for "Everybody Wants to be a Cat" from Disney's "The Aristocats" getting stuck in my head.

I have no idea how this happened.
