I got something MC's can kiss!
    - Uffie

I had written Uffie off as a poppy-hip-hop-also-ran-girl a long time ago and never expected her to do anything worthwhile except for that one Justice track she was on and then THIS THING comes along. Uffie puts the snotty brat routine into overgear with this track, basically giving the finger to all the struggling musicians out there and boasting about hitting the bigtime without trying at alllll She even shows how it easy it is by littering this track with self-indulgent nonsense, like when she busts out a terrible saxophone solo at the end. This is some hilarious and wonderfull selfawareness on display here and the track is fun as hell. Luckily the production is great as well so it'll still be worth replaying after you're all laughed out.

    UFFIE - MC'S CAN KISS

also, thumbs up to new Cee-Lo single

That video is awesome though it does get exhausting on the eye after a while. Song is pretty catchy too.

And Kuuso, that's interesting - I saw one of their last shows before they unceremoniously "split". Didn't realise they had reformed. I'm kind of out of my ambient prog rock wash phase now though.

just listened to the selftitled debutalbum by

    Evelyn Evelyn

It's a tragicomical conceptalbum about a pair of cojoined twins. The sound is somewhere between Tom Waits' "Alice" album and the first Dresden Dolls album.

Hahaha ok look at this shit Very pleasing to see that they have a stageshow which lives up to the sourcematerial.

Aye, it wasn't long ago they reformed. They are hosting ATP's Nightmare before Christmas, which is looking out to be the best event ever, since it also has Tim Hecker, The Ex, Throbbing Gristle, Deerhoof and the like. They also have a small UK tour (still tickets left to most places). They're also going to play some places in US later on.

George David Weiss, co-author of "What a Wonderful World" died yesterday, so I listened to his song in honor. Also the Ramone's version for good measure.

Wat Kyk Jy by Die Antwoord.

I saw them this weekend at the London Electronic Dance festival and it was great. Leftfield were the highlight though (Aphex Twin tent was waaaaay to packed to even get into and I find Goldflapper distinctly meh), but I'm much enjoying those fokken next level beats.

Saw Rush on Sunday night. Seen them 4 times now over 17 years, this show was by FAR the best. 3.5 hours of bliss. Plus they played the Moving Pictures album in its entirety, preserving the song order. I got to see Camera Eye into Witch Hunt. I think that show took me through almost every possible human emotion save for anger.

So, as I said, I'm going to London to see Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Now, the funny thing is that they didn't have any gigs outside UK at that point. Now they announced one...in Finland.

    Fuuu

Well, at least I'm seeing them twice now.
