They are on a bookshelf, in a sink and in a fireplace.
Thanks!![]()
Now how the heck do I reach the book???? tried jumping and sticking rope arrows in the planet, but yhey won't work...........![]()
You can jump into that room easily if you are lined up right. Jump around a bit to see where you are, when you land, walk over to line yourself up with the room and step away from it a fair bit. Then move forward slighly and jump. You will arc up and forward toward the room. It may take one or two tries. When you land in the room use the same strategy to get onto the platform with the book.
Hahaha awesome. I have no idea what the mission's about yet, but I gotta say I love the IDM noise at the root menu. Loud, strange, and obnoxious - just how I like it!
You've got a nice taste in music, partner.
Although I'm not fond of ghosting missions, I am enjoying this one.
I am having the same problem as joanieS though: I have found 7 secrets, but the objective does not tick off. Playing on Expert. Do I have to exit into the streets before the objective ticks off?
EDIT: When I found secret No. 8, the objective was ticked off. Either one of the secrets doesn't count towards the mission objective, or the mission only accepts 8 secrets found, not 7.

Unkillable Cat & joanieS - No, you don't have to exit to the street for the objective to tick off. I don't know what to tell you, we never had that problem in beta testing and we tested for months. I just ran through the release version and found 7 secrets and the objective DID tick off. Strange that it is not for you.![]()
I would say if you are sure you have found 7 then consider the objective complete and when you have finished all other objectives just hit ctr+alt+shft+end to go on to the next mission. Perhaps nicked will come along with another idea.
Strange...your reply had not shown up when I edited my post with the extra info.
Anyhoo, I had already used the cheat code to advance to stage 2, and I'm loving it, even though I've just passed the teleport rooms.
It is strange that this is happening for you. I even tested it at one point to make sure it *was* ticking off when the required amount was found. I thought at one point it wasn't going off when it should. But after double checking the location of all the secrets and running through them again, each time it was me that had miscounted, not the objective that had misfired. Dunno what to suggest except to just find another secret. (There is more than enough in the house to get it checked off sooner or later.)
There is also the cheat to just finish the mission, but I believe if you do that you miss the cutscene at the end. Which sort of chops a bit of the story out.
No, you should not have to get one more than the objective states. I realize that in your case you might but this is a bug and it is one that apparently not everyone is experiencing. I am not and I have now tested this in the release version on each difficulty level. It is working fine for me.So, for those experiencing this, go find that extra secret I guess!

Mission 1: finding five secrets made me feel cool, until I saw the stats screen... I don't know where you hid them, but you did a good job! is there something up the Drawing Room chimney? not the lever to the hidden room, but it looks like a blue recess in the stone... how do I get up there?
Mission 2: holy crap!praise the Builder, I'd been hoping for a modern Sword-type mansion! I've barely started and I'm giddy with excitement!
Not entirely sure where you mean but if you are in the second floor drawing room - what you might be seeing is the 'grate' in the room above. There's nothing but the lever up the drawing room chimney. In fact, you get stucker than stuck if you hop the 'fence' into that fireplace. - If you are in the 3rd floor drawing room, there's a ladder up the side of the chimney.

Finished. WowThanks for this awesome mission, nicked

In desperate need of a rope arrow in part 2. Can anyone point me in the right direction please![]()
There are plenty of rope arrows near the beginning of mission 2 inside the chest of the vault room.
You also get more in the chest in the fireplace when you enter giant-land.
There are more than enough to get you through this mission.
I just finished this FM. Well done, it's quite fun. My favourites were sneaking around the house reading about all the interesting things that happen in this house (the winner being the mess left behind in the loo) and then finding out what happened when I'm trying to escape the house in the 2nd part.
I managed to find an additional secret while playing part 2, so I'm only one short.
The architecture is quite good, alot of care and thought went into making the house feel real...and again in making it feel alive.
Excellent FM, nicked - always enjoy it when the mission changes to something unexpected; would like to see this more often. Great place to explore in both parts! (& 2 of the deadest dead bodies I've ever seen)
Thanx for all the hard work you so obviously put into this![]()
That brings back memories, I may just have to replay thief gold again.
An all around excellent mission in my book.
Thanks for all the hard work that obviously went into making this.
I am having trouble finding the key for the room above the garden.
Hint: There is a note outside the door to that room that tells you where the key is.
Bigger hint: Go through the armory.
Thanx Tannar I missed an entire area upstairs!!
Tannar's hints are for mission 2!![]()
For anyone else stuck, the bedroom key in mission 1 is in the top floor drawing room.
