I'm having trouble finding the golden skull... any hints? (If there is a way to get into the tower basement, I haven't found that either.)

    Edit:

    spoiler:
All right, I stumbled into the Leonora quest; I have the gal (plus the golden skull, which you pick up along the way), but I have no idea where to take her. Her diary says something about sewers, but I couldn't find them. And taking her to where I started doesn't end the mission.

So hints on my new conundrum, please!

(Also, I haven't found the secret with the box in the rafters yet; which building is that in?)

    Thanks,

    Dafydd -
If you've completed all other objectives, taking Leonora back to where you started should finish the mission.

The building's next to the patrolling archer (on the flat rooftop - to the left as you look at it).

There's a door at the top of Alf's apartment (after going through the metal fireplace thing) that I can't open. Where is the key? I'm playing on hard.

    Thanks.

Spoiler #1: I believe it a workshop. If you are in the metal shaft, you should find the grate that leads into an apartment with a patrolling guard (he is wielding a club). From the window of this apartment, you can jump to another window. You will find the key downstairs. Spoiler #2: There is also a secret underground section.

I just got around to playing this. My God, it's good. It's the first time in a while I've finished an FM in one sitting.

Excellent all around. The architecture and story are expertly done, with plenty of details and surprises. I particularly love the haunting ambient sounds.

Not a very long mission, but it's truly grand and well worth every second spent.

That 1.1 version is just the same as the original (if I remembr well). I only added the author informations, which were missing because it was a contest and we had to stay anonymous, and the Italian version, which was missing for the same reason.

Well, let's get the archive sites updated. If someone sends me a link, I'll be happy to update the copy at thiefmissions.

    i don't get it!

okay, got the key to the notary's cabinet, only one drawer opened on it, drawer had NOTHING in it!

(kinda expected to find record of the pregnant womans payments in there! you know - so i could drop them off back in her house and she can tell the greedy sob to go piss off!)

i don't get the point then!

EDIT!!!: NVM - oy - i did'nt think to check my inventory! lol
haha - i was just gonna do it cuz i wanted to - turns out LR had same idea and had it as bonus objective! hah!!!

okay - almost done - but - what's with that one metal door i could'nt seem to find a key for?
it's the first one on the left of where you start out (facing east and under a lamp)

???LOL I don't remember my own mission!
Seriously, it must be the guard post, you can access it from above, jumping from the terrace where the water tower is.

I have trouble at the start. I KOed the guards and thieves. Now I run around and can't progress. Am I supposed to jump onto the balcony? I can't seem to.

There should be a key on one of the thugs . I think it's the fellow who was in the tower.

    Nope, (I couldn't).

Very "tricky" at the beginning as this seemingly simple mission has lots of little twists and turns and lots of climbing/mantling requirements in such a small confined area.

Look for that key on one of the black-clad thieves you KO'd. Might want to turn on AutoSearch Bodies in your Options (if you don't already have it) so you can find it easier. Just pick both thieves up to get it then...

I have to admit this mission baffled me completely at the very earliest part. Couldn't progress out of that starting area on the ground. Eventually figured it out though. The base of that tower was aggravating, to say the least. And I just plain missed one of those little slidy doors in the air conditioning shaft. That almost drove me insane!!!

Still, excellent mission...but coming from Lady Rowena, I knew it would be.

Stuck with Thief 2 fm; The tower

Hello, I had absolutely no problem with the fm until i reach the basement, picked up the key, watched the ghosts and realised my the key wasn't in my inventory. Does someone know a work around for this? maybe a noclip or other command that could put the key in my inventory? I forgot to create saves other than my quicksave

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: OH MAN I'm such a duffer, i though I already had the tower hatch key, I thought that they key on the floor was for one of the nearby doors (face palm)

    Sorry :P

Actually, I've come across another problem, I can't find the jewels that belong to the guy in the tower, I've looked EVERYWHERE can someone give me a clue? I think I might have saw mention of it, but it may have just been an objective.

EDIT: woops it's in the window above the old lady's room i knew it was around there, but for some reason i couldn't find it

Augh, at first I really hated this mission (thought it was going to be a huge keyhunt) but after I got past the first level, it flowed very well and I loved it

I don't know if I was supposed to do it this way, though...

To get to the roof with the archer, I got on the slightly higher flat roof to the right and shot an arrow into the beam on the far side of the opposite roof. Making a daring leap to the rope, I climbed up to the slanted roof to the right and dropped down onto the roof with the archer.

Was I supposed to do that? The roof wasn't roomed from what I could tell (walking made no sound and I couldn't hear the guard or anything)

    Thanks again! Loved it!

Edit: Now I see that simply skirting the water tower would get me a short hop away from the roof Still, I was able to get out there without having to worry about the guard too much.

    The flaw

Once again I came onto yet another lovely Lady Rowena mission rather late . Another great one. Completed it all easily apart from Witherdale's wretched apartment , seemingly the one flaw in the mission. I haven't been able to jump to that balcony , whether it's my computer or something I'm missing I don't know. Oh for something higher to stand on other than that ledge or some point to sink a rope arrow in. Or even to be able to get through that high window. Tried running at it , the lot. Sadly , had to leave it there but thanks for the fun up until then anyway.

Well a lovely mission so far, only issue; I got into the room with the pregnant lady but there's no way out. I have no key for the door, lockpicks don't work, and there's no way to get back into the trap door at the ceiling.
