Damn it, Yahtzee--I've got enough to do without this sudden urge to replay the Thief series.

He's done other "retro reviews" of old games he liked, such as Psychonauts:

The only current game I remember getting a completely positive review from him is Portal:

He liked Saints Row 2 - it was his game of the year.

He loved Painkiller, too, and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

So, Thief, Psychonauts, Painkiller, Prince of Persia, and Portal. I guess the key is to begin your game with a P, unless it's about a Thief.

He speaks a little too fast for me but I understood most of it, and he made me laugh too.
    So good.

Yey Thief! Maybe it'll bring some new people into the community from this unexpected publicity?

I really enjoyed this review and wondered when he was going to get around doing a full segment on Thief.

Yahzee has released his own flash games, one of which is "Trilby" that centers around 2d thief style gameplay - he's obviously always been a big fan of the series.

Not only that, but I got sidetracked and was watching some more of Yahtzee's reviews and I came across fallout 3.

    http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vide.../420-Fallout-3

If you watch it, at around 2:55 he explains why he put his points into lock picking and stealth.

What does this have to to with thief? Well he goes on to state the following

(Put in spoilers for those who actually want to watch the video)

"I experience minor brain hemorrhages by the thief series as the only games who have done stealth well and partly because I was going to steal shit."

I just watched it and imediately ran here to see if there was already a board.

I find it funny, I started watching ZP because of this forum and now it's brought me back full circle...

His Oblivion commentary is great, even if you do like Oblivion.

Hah, I caught the link by DJMcAwesome first...

But yay, that's awesome. Took him a shit long time to actually have a review for thief.... I recall that there was actually another review that made reference to "immersion" and he talked about thief 2. Don't remember which game it was for, but it was cool to see a nod to thief 2. Apparently he actually liked thief a lot.. Well, thief 2 anyway. He seems to be in the crowd of taffers who like T2 better than T1.

Check out some of the comments for the video guys

Yes, finally vindication. Thief 2 was the superior title. When I hear the title Thief I picture sneaking post guards and looting, not fighting zombies and belching pigme T-Rexes, FFS.

If you're fighting them you're doing it wrong anyway.

I believe you are thinking about the Oblivion review, where he complains that the game never draws you in with the crappy AI. He goes on to provide examples of "real immersion".

"Immersion is when you are walking down the street at night and check your light gem to make sure you aren't visible after playing hours of thief" (Or something to that extent )
