I really enjoyed this one - I think I must have missed a few places so I will have to do a bit more exploring - didn't read instructions very carefully so it took me a while to get the key.

I fell from great heights quite a bit.

Sterlino - that one opens with a lever from the other side, if you've dropped the hanged man in the cellar you may find a prayer to St Tennor is beneficial

    -- EDIT --

    ah you found it anyway

you mean it's to divert attention away from the real entrance and make any thieves waste their time trying to get it open

    ...that's ..... that's ..........that's GENIUS!

completely evil, twisted, devious machiavellian genius

    but genius non the less

    now it makes perfect sense

    Trudnicki:

Issin's corpse goes on the bed in the basement of the bar.
I don't know of any use for the Hammerite corpse.
The Valve puzzle is a lie.

To get to the archer: Climb up on the wall that surrounds the suicide victim, jump over to the wall in the corner and open the window above it.

You will find the key to the alley door later on. You will find the key to the bar door after that.

    trudnicki:

    - there's another door down the short flight of stairs - look for a bed.
    - never did work out anything to do with Hammerite corpse...
    - no, it's a 'blind' by the Keepers.
    - "suicide place" - don't know where you mean, sorry.
    - don't need to use that door (the key may be on the other side of it, not sure).
    - deposit Issen's corpse.

    Edit: Not Again!
Edit 2: archer - or you can wait til you have the Palace key.

Esme: yes, you got it precisely.

clearing: yikes, this took way less time than I anticipated. [edit: also, what happened to Darkfate.ru? I can't get it to load right now.]

now THAT was my kind of mission! lots of nooks and crannies, rooftops and hideaways to explore. one of my favourite fan missions. period.

ps: loved that weird painting that bled when shooting arrows at it!

    *sighs* A couple more questions.

Where is the 'suicide' place, please?

And where is the place that has the painting that bleeds?

Even though I've finished all the objectives, I know there is so much more that I've missed. I don't often go back & replay an FM I've just completed, but Melan's FM is definitely an exception!

There is a gate to the right at the very beginning, with a lever behind it. I know I have to open it from the other side, but how can I get to the other side?I even had a brief look behind it in dromed but couldn't figure out the way.
The only idea I had was to enter through waterway (by standing on a chain and jumping) but the current is too strong.

Haplo: you're at the right place to get there. Look around from chain and think higher then waterfall, and think about rope arrow ...

Best city mission I've played in a long, long time. The layout is very lifelike, seemingly random twists and turns and sloping streets make the city look very authentic. The climbing is top notch as well, great use of vertical space. The whole mission is built like you descend a hill, you start off at the high point and work you way down to where the poor house is, or you can take the wet route and let the river take you there. I don't think I've ever seen that done in Thief really. Amazing design, well done and may you build many more missions like this one, I enjoyed it very much.

Actually, it is (or at least was in a beta build, I don't know if it was changed) possible to get up the waterway. You had to jump to the upper tract, and swim up-current while hugging the floor - the current seemed to be weaker there.

As for the painting, I for one didn't notice the bleeding during beta testing. However, it's very appropriate, and all you taffers pissed off by the valve puzzle can vent your frustration on it - it's Melan.

I love these crazy crate makers how on earth do they intend to get them through the doors ? nice way to get to the nearby goblet and wine bottle too took a bit of thinking about that did

just got to find this thing that clearing found, I could have sworn I checked that place thoroughly

just in case you hadn't guessed I'm enjoying this one immensely
