T2 FM: Wicked Relics by Kfort (6/22/09)

    Hiya Fellow Taffers!

At long last, I've finished working on my Thief 2 fan mission, Wicked Relics.

    Download Links:
Full Version (with NEW Italian translation)
    http://www.thiefmissions.com/info.cgi?m=WickedRelics (thiefmissiondownloads)

    No Briefing Movie Version

    Briefing Movie Only on YouTube
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87SN-OdBNAs (YouTube)

(The Full version with briefing movie is now fixed, but in case it is still giving anyone problems, I've uploaded the full briefing movie to YouTube for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!)

Complete Loot List by Tannar (Loot + consumables/dolls)

Wicked Relics is a large mansion-style mission. The plot revolves around a valuable artifact in the possession of a rich nobleman. Search the sprawling mansion grounds for the prize, while seeking the whereabouts of your missing co-conspirator, Tricky Nick.

Just want to go on record to say that I had the extreme pleasure of testing this mission and everyone is in for a real treat. One of the best mansion missions released - everyone should give this one a try regardless of your play style. The amount of polish on the gameplay is something else! There are tons of surprises, lots to do and even a few special bits and objectives you may trigger if you are a clever enough taffer to discover them

If you are having trouble getting the mission to work, try the No_Movie version. I've had some reports of problems with the briefing movie and I'm trying to track down the cause. Not everyone is affected, so I'm not sure if it is specific to a certain FM manager (GL vs DL), operating system (Vista vs XP) or something else. In the meantime, the movieless version is working well and I've temporarily removed the links for the full version.

Hopefully I can get it figured out quickly so ya'll can get the full experience.

Thanks for the kind words, SneakyJack! I've had a lot of fun making this mission. I'm glad to finally have the opportunity to share it with the Thief community. I look forward to hearing what people think of my little creation.

Great news, kfort - really enjoyed Bloodmist Tower.
And best of luck with the briefing movie issue; think I'll wait & see how that goes, & concentrate on Catman's new FM for now.

Thanks for this mission, it was great fun!! Also, it's truly like from 2002-2003 (I mean it in the good way, it's a typical classic mansion mission, even the ambients.)

    Keep up the good work!

Shouldn't be long now. AFAIK it was just a question of what worked in Vista didn't in XP and vice versa, or something like that.

I'm waiting to hear back from a few of my testers, but I anticipate posting the full version after work today. I may actually end up posting both a version with movie and a separate link to a stand-alone movie file for Vista users. As it is, I have one version of the movie that works for most of my testers, but doesn't appear to work for players on Vista, and another version that works for Vista players, but doesn't consistently work for non-Vista users in-game (either no movie or crash-to-desktop when loading the movie). Unless I can work out the issue with the Vista-compatible version, I'll switch back to the original movie file and make the other movie available separately for people who can't see the movie or those who downloaded the No-Movie version and don't want to bother with another large file.

Let me guess...despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, he keeps saying that he's not a crook, am I right?

I'm downloading now, will give feedback once I've played it a bit.

For some reason, no one seems to believe him. Having "Tricky" for a nickname, probably doesn't help matters.

After you read the note near the fireplace he appears in one of three different locations depending on the difficulty level if I remember correctly.

You mean the colored dolls? Dewdrop to be exact. I've got 3 of them so far.
