It's more that the other one is typically styled RED all uppercase

Ha oh yeah. And I trust your expertise on upper and lowercases, given your name.

Reminds me of when I went high as a kite to what I thought was a showing of Mandy with Andrea Riseborough and ended up at a showing of Nancy with Andrea Riseborough. I kept wondering whether I had finally lost it for the first 30 minutes. Both films are pretty good.

I finally got around to watching 'Chernobyl' and was alternately mesmerized and horrified. I clearly remember the events of that disaster and hell, everybody knew that Russian operators at that plant had screwed up big time, but I was floored at the attempt to cover up the event by the Russian government. I always thought Gorbachev was the main villain in the coverup, but turns out it was his lackeys. I think we all knew that the death toll from that accident was much higher than '31', but that's that old Russian ego for you. Brilliant acting by the likes of Stellan Skarsgard (as always), Jared Harris and Paul Ritter; I binge watched the entire mini series in one sitting.

Now I feel the need to go back and play the 'Stalker' games again.

Ha, hey, did you see/are you aware of Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities? Mostly fantastic horror anthology, and one ep was by the director of Mandy. I knew it right away, too, before looking it up, just cause of the visual style.

Yes! Panos Cosmatos' episode was my favourite, visually gripping and a great atmosphere even if nothing much really happens. I wish the rest of the series was as strong.

I have finally watched Tarkovsky's Stalker. I haven't played the game, but I've read the Strugatsky book it's loosely based on (long time ago, though).

I first read that book in Japanese for my Japanese course. That was a mistake. XD To say I was lost would be understatement of the year. There are so many novel words and even normal words are used very strangely. It's bewildering and confusing what's happening even in English, which I found out later on. I don't know if I've ever had a feeling of being more profoundly lost than trying to go through that book in that foreign language.

What's interesting is that the movie and the game are classics in their own right for their own reasons. The story is just the canvas. You ought to play the game sometime, at least the first one. It's really great in creating its world and environment, one of the best ever.

Aw! I thought 6 out of 8 were great, including that one. Only didn't like the "witch" one with the Harry Potter guy and the boring finale. How could you not like Crispin Glover and his bizarre accent, and the F Murray Abraham ep?

Mmm, I've been thinking about playing some Stalker game, but—while I did like the movie—I'm not so sure about the games, because of the added combat.

Ah okay. It's a shooter at heart, so if you're not into combat, that's a good reason not to get into it.
