    T2 FM - Midday Eclipse - UNPC contest (30 Dec 2009)

    Midday Eclipse

This is an entry to Uncadonego's No Pressure (un)Contest.

It is a continuation of Midday Escape, and is in the same setting.

It should be pretty quick and easy to finish.

    Download: UNPC-Midday Eclipse.zip

Great! Thanks for this, Sxerks. I just needed a new mission to play!

EDIT: Finished, with only 625 out of 2500 loot, and only 5/21 pockets picked. I'm ashamed and I'll replay it tonight! Loved the eclipse btw, I really laughed out loud. I can't believe no one ever did anything like that before, nice idea! I saw a guard wearing a key, but couldn't figure out how to reach him: two archers were facing my direction a little too much.

Sxerks: I loved the way you made all of the little windows so you can sneak past the dumb guards!!

    Thanx for a great mission!!

Really good mission, I was waiting for this. Loved the original one too. I got only 550 of 2500 loot, and can't imagine where all the loot is, but finished. Any ideas?

That was fun. A feast of recognition with the scattered coins and the house by house sneaking during daylight. I found the rooftop route more varied then in 'Escape', and the mission itself looked a bit better (still not pretty overall but hey). Too bad there aren't any alternative routes and that the guards can't enter houses, though. That eclipse on demand came in handy
Finished in 18 minutes with 1500 loot.

What's with the locked hatch on the upper floor of the grey tower? Can it be opened?

Glad you returned with another mission, Sxerks. Any plans for something bigger (non-contest) next time?

There is a lootlist, which is "in order of appearance" for the most part.

The "pockets picked" is off because of non-frobable arrows it should be 7 not 21.

The Guards have had their vision tweaked, so they don't notice you as easily.

Most of the loot is out in the open, there ae a few things you would need to "blind frob" for.

Alternative routes would have required a larger mission.

There is a key for the tower, it's listed in the lootlist.

There aren't any plans for non-contest missions, the contest ones take up plenty of time as it is. The concept for this one was going to be part of a larger redo of Midday Escape, so a potential reworked combination of the two maybe possible, but I have other stuff I want to work on at the moment.

I've played through this twice now, and really like it. My best so far is 1800 loot. I've gotten the red herring key and know what it's for, but haven't found the orange key yet (I assume it opens the trapdoor in the ceiling later on). Great fun, thanks Sxerks!

You are right with second one and you can find it right at the beginning and there's also some loot!

This mission is thankfully short enough to replay.

I fell short by only 25 loot on my second playthrough.

On the other hand, I managed to score a surprising number of kills, thanks to friendly fire.

    Stupid archers ....

When the mission starts, turn around to face the invisible barrier blocking the alley. On your left on the floor is a key, you have to blindly frob the area.

The other is on a guard. (It's the swordsman who is standing with two archers)

Yep, did you check the in main thread, and on the wiki .

And Mediafire is a lot more user friendly then Rapidshare or Filefront, and it tells you how many downloads there have been(213 so far).

I agree, it's about the only one that doesn't make you wait a minute before starting the download too, nicer for the downloaders as well as the uploader.

I have encountered some bug probably: 1st and 2nd time (after reload) the eclipse of sun was full i.e. full dark - Garrett invisible. But after 3rd and all next reloads the eclipse is only partial - some light source remains. And I don't see eclipse on sun (black circle over sun).

Depends on where you saved, if it was anytime after you left the last building then you are saving during a "conversation" and that always causes problems. Otherwise I'm not sure, you might have to quit and reload from a fresh restart.

I can get the key near the beginning- no problem with it. But have you got any idea how to get the sword guard's key (since two archers with him are really upset)?

I was able to get it by running and grabbing it as I passed him. It took a few tries to do it without putting the archers on full alert but it can be done.
