I'll be damned, this post from last year lead me to discover an entire page at The Circle with plenty more tutorials .

    http://www.thief-thecircle.com/teg-old/guides/

I'll check with links over there are still operative and mention them here, in case they'll be missed.

Speaking of TTC, the "news" section should probably be updated regarding the release of NewDark.

Water and lava would be fine I think. The idea is to capture the main things for the tutorial. There are also some tutorials that are 'Basic DromEd" or "Introductory" in nature like Komag's and Spike's.

Ok, I've followed the suggestions and made a start with putting the tutorials under different keywords. See here and downwards: http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthrea...0#introduction

I decided to put some hyperlinks at the top of the thread (like "Getting started / Introductory" and "Weather") that will instantly bring the viewer to the section where tutorials about this subject are listed.

Instead, no seperate sections are created for "fog", "rain" or "snow" beside "weather", to prevent the list becoming overly long with too many double results. However, these terms can be found using Ctrl + F, as they're listed under a specific tutorial that covers it/mentions it in the text. So dromeders can either click a hyperlink at the top and browse the tuts that covers this subject or, in case it gives no result, use Ctrl + F to search for a more specific keyword.

It's still WIP of course, it takes some time before the old list (which is still visible) will be replaced by the new, which slowly emerges at the bottom. Feel free to let me know your experiences with searching or further thoughts.

Vae: AFAIK The Circle is no longer being updated unfortunately.

    This looks quite good.

I have a question about the intended difference between the headings "OBJECTS / MODELS" and "OBJECTS". Also the tutorial "Improving the physics model by using multiple submodels" is substantially different from the other "OBJECTS" tutorials in that it is about establishing DromEd Physics settings and not about modeling objects.

There's no difference actually. I still have to carry over what is listed under "objects" towards "objects/models".

Now that's the kind of input I need! Thanks for making that clear. In that case I'll move this tutorial under the new header "physics" instead.

    Thanks for telling Larry.
I've put your tutorial under (Ambient) Sound. Let me know if you'd like to see another description then the one currently filled in.

    Thanks.

Technically, Songs are different from ambient sounds but that's as good a category to place that tutorial as any. People should be able to find it there. And that's the name of the game.

Man, I wish I was better at backing up my data....

I had quite a collection of useful resources organized just the way I liked them. Plus, after I updated and tweaked Thorin's Objects List, then built my own SFX list, I spent several days working out how to do Schemas, found quite a few problems in one of the original tutorials I had seen, and basically rewrote my own from scratch, with updated methods, fixed bugs, etc. Only to go and lose all that stuff in a hard drive failure. I thought I had saved copies of everything, but probably lost the backup CDs as well, somewhere along the way (and 3 house moves in between).

The moral of this: don't waste your time, it'll only disappear anyway...
..No, wait, I mean: great job! With people backing them up and hosting them in different places, hopefully nothing useful will ever disappear again.

I'm sure that SFX list is still floating around somewhere. I'll check out your Schemas tut, as well, LarryG. I'm going to need a refresher course anyway. Out of curiosity: how long did it take you to write it, and approximately how many significant revisions did it take, and did you have any other folks read it/use it to see how user-friendly it was?

    I haven't written it yet!

Edit: removed the cut/pasted tutorials since they are available per Brethren's note below.

Larry, you might want to wade through your posting above and edit it, it's a bit of a mess and there's some duplicated stuff in there.

All of these tutorials are also available at the Dromed Central mirror at Southquarter, under the Sound category.

I was referring to the Songs and Song Schemas one you linked above.

You can use the forum threads for discussion/questions but most links over there to d/l a tutorial are down, due to their age. To grab the actual tutorial focus on the website titles in black below each tut. The actual links to these sites are situated near the top of the thread.

Brethren: I'll add mentions to your site as well.

I've made a video tutorial for dromed 2 1.19 for new dromed FM authors. If people like the video then I may consider doing a few more. I'm not really experienced in making tutorial videos, so I hope it is helpful. This is a beginner "dromed interface introduction" video.

Important note: You should make the video full screen and up the quality to HD(720p) for a better viewing experience.

    Useful tutorial, sneaksie!

I've mentioned it in the tutorials overview below the titles Beginners/Introductory, Dromed 1.19 and Editor.

    Overhaul complete

Save for a few minor changes, the revision of the Tutorials overview is now complete. It should be a definite improvement in terms of finding a tutorial you need.

Please read the parts under How you can help / contribute and User Manual the first time, located at the top of the thread. I can't pay attention to everything that goes missing, expires, is incomplete etc., so I welcome every message by you user to inform me about something noticed. Also, further suggestions to improve functionality of the list are equally welcome.

Hopefully it can be a continuing source of information to dromEders .

From the very incredibly late than never department, I've finally got around to creating a PDF file of the Photoshop tutorial I wrote here about a year ago. It's mostly done, though I've still got a few pictures to add in at the end and probably a few spelling errors here and there.

If anyone's interested, read through it and tell me what you think of what I've got so far.

    Thanks Phantom!

In other news, I added another video. I went ahead and made a playlist for my dromed videos, so that way all the videos are grouped together. I've been busy with other stuff so I just now got around to actually announcing it. Looks like some folks already watched it without my announcement.

My apologies for microphone blasting and general awkwardness. I'm not an experienced tutor and I thought of what to say basically as I was going along.

    Nice work, Renzatic.

sNeaksie: Actually, I'm one of those folks who already noticed it . It's already mentioned in the list. But thanks for telling anyway. Should be a useful beginner tut for many, and it helps to actually see the steps performed.
I'd recommend you announce it in a seperate thread as well, for discussion/question purposes. That's also what I wrote on page 1.
