    save request

Hello, Does anyone have a save for when you open the shed or after you disable the master bedroom's ? I keep getting crashes in the main mansion. I've tried multiple fixes. I don't know what's causing it, but any help would be appreciated. I'm using newdarkloader 1.5.0 and my newdark is the latest version.

A while ago I noticed this problem too, when running under NewDark. It is due to hundreds of lost objects that keep increasing each time you save. Whether this was always there but didn't crash the old Dark Engine, or appeared under NewDark I don't know. I should release an updated version some day.

In the meantime If you give me your email address in a private message I can send you a fixed mission file. You'd have to start over, but at least you will be able to continue.

I don't have access to private messaging, yet. I sent an email to the email on your profile. Once again, thank you for the help.

It's the dedx bug again I think
    This gamesys.dml will fix it
    Code:
    DML1//DEDX fix//Insanity Crescendo//ic.gam.dml

    #script tnhscript
    #script nvscript

    -ObjProp -7222 "Fungus"

Well, I can confirm that Unna's fix worked for me. Ever time I've played through Insanity's Crescendo it crashes at one point or another. I've just tested all my saves that are crashing without the dml, and even without having to start a new game this FM no longer crashes where and when it used to.

Thanks. What is the nature of the bug?

The gamesys dml disables a special metaproperty in dedx. This is a bizarre dedx feature on player footsteps. It will cause trouble because of unwanted obj_ids spaming.

Thanks. What does Prox->Fungus exactly do?

This was the suggestion to use the fungus stuff. Then it was implemented as a metaproperty in dedx.

Ok, so it was added so a "silent potion" can be created. Makes sense.
But why does it cause lost objects to be created under NewDark?

This is not a NewDark bug. There's a famous mission with that bug (Elevator Mission 9). The bug has been there since dedx was introduced. The longer you stay in a mission walking around, the more likely you hit it.

I'm not sure what's causing it. Every (temporary) event needs an ID in DromEd, such as SFX, blood, exmoss... They have tweq-->delete property to avoid problems.
If I query that metaproperty (M-SilenceEffectX), there's no result. But prox: fungus is being used. So must be a strange side effect. Maybe a stim that's stimulating forever. The Garrett archetype has the receptron for SilentStimx which adds the metaproperty M-SilenceEffectX.

    This is getting technical.

Thanks for explanation. And I don't mind technical.
It is weird that this problem happens even if the usage of M-SilenceEffectX is not triggered.

I installed both fixes. I made greater progress, but I encountered the same issue as before. My game would crash after saving and the previous saves would crash too. I did notice some slow down in the first floor of the mansion. After a bit, the lag stopped and the mission continued with no issue. I think it might just be how my computer is working. I have liked what I've seen. I'm probably going to end up watching fen's run through of the mission. I did manage to make it through the labyrinth.

@wolftodd: Please upload a savegame with the lag enabled or in the house.

    here you go. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Blh...ew?usp=sharing
I don't know if it will work since I had various fixes applied to it, but I saved in the area I had the most issues. If you can't open in it, I had the most trouble in the kitchen area and the hall next to it.

Thanks. Which fixes did you apply?
The gamesys.dml isn't loaded in the savgame.
The renamed tnhscript module isn't loaded. That's bad.
The renamed nvscript module isn't loaded. But nvscript. That's okay.
I edited the gamesys dml in order to load the scripts. Mission restart required.
I loaded it in the game. Can't notice any lags.
I also loaded the savegame in DromEd. No lags. I'll examine the savegame some more tomorrow.

Please post your PC specs and Thief2.log in code tags.

As for the dml: Put the code in a txt file. Save it as ic.gam.txt. Rename it to ic.gam.dml and put it in the FM folder.

So I have good news and bad news for you unna. The good news is that I managed to finish the mission. The bad news is that the mission is now pretty much far away from the original mission. Haplo helped me out with a special version. I'm pretty sure it came down to me installing either too many fixes or installing them incorrectly. The issue was probably had to do with me installing the dedx fungus fix incorrectly cause the issue, in hindsight, feels similar to what was happening when I first played the mission. I got lag around the same area both times. It went away after I got out of the area. I was probably more cautious with the saving the second time around. I will still give the stuff you requested. Hopefully it helps. Let me know if you'd like me to pack up the full fm folder for you to loot at.

You installed the game in a protected folder C:\Program Files (x86).
    That's not good.

Copy the game and put it somewhere else, maybe
    C:\Games
Since you're still on ND 1.26, I recommend to update the game to ND 1.26. Quick update

The gamesys.dml will also work with that "new" version.

The hardware is okay. You're on Win 8. The main issue is the installation in the
    protected folder.
