Oh come on Acolyte, they are not that hard, you just need to pratice more Garrett movments and combat skills ,also the sneaking skills, i see i have to make some video tuturials with some tricks that many people might not know yet. Be patient Acolyte6 and insist more.

Am I really that stupid?!?! Nobody here has asked about the combination code in mission 2 near the Turkish baths. I know about the spoiler folder and I inadvertently saw the code, but how on Caprica do you calculate that? Hints please (

in the same area there are 6 turkish baths, each of them have a tiny switch wich will reveal numbers, check the book near the buttons code, there you will find guidance to search the Turkish Baths in a specific order.

Hope this helps, thanks for playing this one...

Thanks cardia1. I don't know how I missed them as I knew where the directions were pointing to. But you surely have a talent for concealing switches and designing puzzles.

Don't want to be too judgmental but: Yuck!

Ghastly FM with a storyline very out of keeping with the Thief mythos. Garrett not only romantically involved with someone (as far as I'm concerned, Garrett is actually either asexual or gay) but with one of the homicidal maniacs known as Mechanists. Since I've plodded through the other two parts (with liberal use of spoilers & Dromed, so I could fly through all the jumpy bits) I might as well continue, but with a New Objective of my own: kill that mechanist woman!

Anyone who has walked in Garrett's shoes for any length of time knows how eclectic the FMs can be. He's been in the distant future and remote past. He's seen Basso killed a number of times and brought back to life in other missions. He's been in outer space, inside volcanoes, trapped in ancient dungeons, and has seen the apocalypse of time.

While I disliked the run/leap/twist/grab/mantle routines of 3DA, the campaign was a vision by someone who has a lot of heart for Thief. If nothing else, cardia1 is a Master Architect. I can't wait to see what he does with New Dark.

The whole romance thing was cardia1's idea, if I continue my own work after I complete my revision of 4th planet-my version of Anna will stay on course with the original plot I came up with a few years ago which will entail many adventures, dark discoveries, moments of horror, sadness and triumph etc. As for the Mechansits, I see them as complex characters with the organization having fragmented into varying factions within the one group with various agendas, some good, some evil-with the real truths of what Karras was doing kept from the masses of followers.

Thanks Terry, i'm actually finishing a team project with Ravenhook for thief 2, and i'm using new dark, incredible what i'm allowed to create with new dark

Dead rat, i recomend you not to play anymore any of my upcoming missions because will not like them, and because I will make Garrett fall in love with a Escort girl.

I agree, there are some very nice buildings and environments, which is why I'm continuing. But I'm making up my own story

    Changing the sound files

For those who don't like the electronic music in the third (town) mission: open your Thief directory and the 'snd' folder. Now open the 'garrett' folder and move these files to another folder somewhere on your computer: Gar0211, Gar0218, Gar0219, Gar0401, Gar0402, Gar0403, Gar404, Gar405, Gar416, Gar0417

Choose some .wav files of music that you do like (or just a silent .wav file) and rename them with the above file names, and place them in the 'garrett' folder in 'snd'.

I wonder what exactly is updated in the last version? I played in 2010 and don't remember any bugs.

probably there was no need to fix any bugs, instead im must have added new objects and change other things, anyway this one will have to be udated with newdark.

It's funny how difficult frustrating missions lead to more bickering in the forums. Well, not funny, but I think there is a connection there.

There is no doubt, Mission 2 is challenging. But after being righteously pissed off at the difficulty, I finally realized I was playing Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb (an action game), but with better graphics and atmosphere. So, I calmed down and took it for what it is, an action game. There's no rule that says you can't make an FM that's like Tomb Raider, is there?

But, cardia, I do have to say that the techno music in Mission 3 was way too loud. I didn't want to delete the files for fear of missing the clues that were supposed to lead me to the right places to go... but they didn't. I heard the music from places I didn't need to go, and there was no music in the apothecary shop, where I did need to go.

I read what you said about wanting to set the atmosphere for us the way you feel it. Night time in a club district, drinks and dancing and general merriment. I get it. But since it's not a simulation mission, it was just way too loud. It's a question of volume. I kind of feel bad for your neighbors, if that's the volume you're comfortable with. Sorry, mate. You need to turn it down. Honestly.

But to end on a positive note, you are a master FM creator and excellent designer. I aspire to your architecture and textures. And I think I want to take that purple haunt-creature in the room with the broadhead puzzles home with me. Purr!!! So, good job!

Thanks Margotbean, as for the jumping challenge lets say i did it during a time i was playing alot Prince of Persia, so i got influenced by it, but you could also say Tomb Raider has some influence in some of my missions. As for Indiana Jones i never played, and i dint know there was a Indiana Jones game...know i got curious. but if you play on a easier difficult mode, there is a way to bypass those jumps.

As for the Deep house music, its something that i heard for the first time while playing some of the Thief missions, and i felt that the sounds connect well with the nocturne atmospheres as well as the medieval style buildings. It does not remind me night clubs, simply because im not a man of the night, i never go to clubs, discotheques or bars, im a Nerd so to say, but yes i love electronic music. Lol, yes listening that music loud with open windows is a lack of respect for the neighbors. Anyway on the 3th mission players are able to turn off the musics by frobing its victrola which will switch to a thief 1 ambient music. also these music are a way for players to identify available locations to loot.

Again many thanks for your kind words and support

Hello Pedro I started this on Hard and the door that is supposed to open after the female's speech is over will not open? I started twice with no luck? I will try again on another difficulty and see if it works. I am using FM selector and my Thief 2 is 1.22

Edit: I tried all of the difficulty settings with same results the door remained closed? I then tried DarkLoader and it worked fine??
