Dark Mod FM: Mad's Mountain by Jesps, 31st Jul 2010

    Mad's Mountain

Mad's Mountain is a small map for the Dark Mod's vertical summer contest 2010

A gang of thieves recently stole a painting from the Builders. My client, a collector wants that painting for his personal collection.
The gang's hideout is in some caves in a mountain, outside of town.
The painting can probably be found on the upper levels, along with some of the more important members of the gang. Including their leader Bryce the Mad.
Little is known about this Bryce, but he is said to be ruthless to his victims and gang members. Anyway I doubt he got his nick-name for nothing, so I should be careful.

    I want to thank
    nbohr1more,
    Sotha, and
    peispud
    for beta testing the map

Shadowhide: you should have a lantern already at the start in your inventory. Leastways I have on Expert.

Just played the start to get the flavour of it - have to resume a bit later. It's a terrific start.

Now mirrored and on Dark Mod downloads page @

just finished the mission... 9 KOs, 0 kills, 0 damage taken. I was wondering, Did that builder guard die of a seizure from the flashing light??

    Thanks!

played through this one today, it's pretty short but a lot of fun!
there are many side areas to explore, and ways of bypassing enemies (though it's worth going back and checking the guarded areas).

there are some spiders, but they can be avoided entirely. I liked the climbable web, but thought that area could have been spiced up if the corpse the little ones were nibbling on had been a zombie! there wasn't really a reason to check too closely, so maybe the nearby loot should have been moved down there?
