I had played STALKER 1 some years ago and enjoyed it alot.
Now I started playing Clear Sky and would have a few questions.

    - Stalker 1 had a few good places/crates where you could put your stuff. In Clear Sky the only place seems to be near Sidorovich in the Kordon.
You can not simply drop weapons since they will eventually disappear. For the same reason I would not want to place them in random crates that may become filled with stuff due to some new quest or so.

I made to from the Kordon to the next areas already, but I am desperately serching for good places where I can deposit additional weapons.

    - how exactly can you find the artifacts ? I have the upgraded detector, but I fail to understand what I need to actually find an artifact.
If the detector gives a noise when approaching an anomalie, then what triggers the artifacts to appear?
I read you simply need to get closer to it, but I never found anything that way.

STALKER 2 has restarted development and will highly likely use Unreal Engine 4. Current release window is 2021.

This: 'GSC announces S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 for the second time'. So yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. We can only hope, right?

I know that there are many questions and doubts. I know that this can turn out to be a disaster. But in this particular moment I'm hyped as hell and hope for the best.

Anybody who wants to play a little STALKER while you wait until OJ finds the real killer,
I can't recommend the newest Stalker: Anomaly enough.

    https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-anomaly.

    SUCH an excellent job!

Everything cool thing that every Stalker mod has ever done already baked in.
Everything moved over to a 64bit version of the engine.

    Just so excellent.

I rememenr this game. I playe it 5 years ago. I played 3 S.T.A.L.K.E.R games and I liked the second the most. I think, maybe it will be good to play it again.

No, those were expansion packs (effectively similar to what is referred to as DLC these days). The posts from Nameless Voice onwards are referring to a sequel which continues the story directly after the events of for Stalker 1 apparently.

I only just noticed this news item actually.

The original game was Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, then Stalker: Clear Sky was released followed by Stalker: Call of Pripyat. GSC made it clear that the latter two were 'expansions' (what we call DLCs) of the original S.O.C. game, even though both played like full games. I think that confused a lot of Stalker fans.

It certainly confused me as well. I really loved the first half of Shadow of Chernobyl, but the latter half was a bit of a chore, so I never felt like playing Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat after finishing the first game. Are they both still "full length" games despite of being expansions/DLC?

Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat are both stand alone games. CS feel more like an expansion as it reuses most of the maps from the original but it adds more content and has an original story. CoP has entirely new maps and they are much bigger than the previous two but there are only 3 of them (plus some smaller interjoining ones). Both games feel a little like a refinement of the previous entry in the series.

If you didn't like SoC because if felt like a chore, perhaps skip CS and give CoP a shot, it's a much freer environment with more of an emphasis on exploring.

Yes Tomi and both are worth playing. Clear Sky can get a little frustrating because it gives you challenges almost simultaneously ('Old Church is under attack' & 5 seconds later another camp is under attack, too) but I enjoyed it. Call of Pripyat is a little easier than the first two and I enjoyed that as well.

I decided to replay Stalker from the first game with all add-ons and DLC. Started with Shadow of Chernobyl

Need more info. Good trailer but clearly not gameplay even though it's the "Official Gameplay Trailer."

I feel like a complete moron for even considering the $340 physical edition. Every cell in my body screams that it's the dumbest thing I can possibly do. And it is. But I'll most likely do it anyway.

Must be nice to have so much disposable income to spend on backpacks and lamps.
