I couldn't, find any code for the safe door at the bottom of the slope where all the rats are. I took out the rats and picked up a couple pills. But cannot find the code. I tried to look at the pipes and got nothing.

    Okay,

as confusing and back tracking as this mission is, one things got me really flummoxed!

It's that I have read in here about things like a key and a clue in a letter in the villa area (mission2) that applies to to things in the town area (mission 1).

But according to the "mission instructions" letter, I can't return to the town area once I go into the villa area!

(ala the instructions about stocking up at the weapons shop beforehand!)

Playing on Hard difficulty if that makes any diff.?

More confusion: am I supposed to cut the remaining wires in the high pressure chamber?

    Um, I'd really appreciate,

if someone could answer my questions above!

    Thank you very much!

I do not remember doing this. I picked open the glass cupboard, grabbed the key and loot crystal, used the key to open a door, turned a valve to open the next door, then got the %/¤/&# out of there.

I do not know what you are referring to with the key and letter.

I do not know what you are referring to with the key and letter.
In the chamber are 3 wires - one is already broken (hence the letter from one guy to another about fixing it) and two that are unbroken.

So I was wondering if there's a reason to cut the other 2?
(and the already broken one even has a frobable lever!)

And this thread has mentioned that the key to the box with the grap arrow is in the lady's chambers and the letter with the bank vault clue is likewise to be found in the villa area.

And the "mission instructions" letter implies that once in the villa area (mission 2) you can't get back to the town area (mission 1), so that is a bit contra-indicated there!
To thieve or not to thieve?
Oh hell, that aint even a question!

You can find both of these things in mission 1.

On "Hard" difficulty? (Or does it not matter?)

Because the key was mentioned to be in the lady's chambers. (from a letter to her found in a room left by the duke, her illicit lover.

(and are'nt her chambers in the villa area? and that still leaves the clue being useless to the player if they can't return to the town area to use the clue!)

Mission 1 is in the town, mission 2 in the villa. Exception is the lady's chamber, that you can visit in mission 1 but not in mission 2. After getting the key there in mission 1 you're supposed to get the grap arrows in the same mission.

    OOOH!

So her chambers are'nt actually part of the "villa" area?

Thanx Potatoguy - now - is the clue letter also there?

Otherwise it don't make sense cuz ya could'nt use it!

Oh, am still wondering if there's any reason to cut those 2 remaining wires in the pressure chamber area?
To thieve or not to thieve?
Oh hell, that aint even a question!

to cut the other two blue wires in there or just leave em be!
To thieve or not to thieve?

I'd help if I could but am sadly lacking in memory at the moment.

Why not live dangerously! Give it a try!

But quick (professional ) save first.

    The thing is,

that I like to know what the heck it is that I am doing!
(and I think Garrett's life has nuff danger in it as it is!) HAH!!

Like if I cut a wire that prevents an alarm or that turns off certain
lights - I'd like to know that, or if doing it means something I'd want
to work won't if I do, then I'd rather not do!

(and you can pretty much guss that also means that I
HATE secret switches that open things in other rooms or even farther away! lol)
( I go around goin "now wth did that do?")

    Okay,

never got a definitive answer on those wires so I just went onwards.

Now I got a Major gripe!

(and it is what I mentioned before so...)
I was told in here that I can get the key for the grap arrow box
in mission 1; and that it is in the Lady's chambers and that I can return to
the town after visiting her chambers.

Well, as soon as I go thru the loose bricks and then up into the
villa area - MISSION ONE ENDS!

So why was I told I can get the key "in mission 1"?

Only thing I can figure is that you DON'T get to her chambers via that route?
If not, then I am lost - no idea where I go then!

OOHH - wait - THE BLOODY CABLE CAR?
YUP! The blasted "Purloined Letter" syndrome!
(Thief has me so used to looking for the secret or hidden, hard to find places and ways, that I missed the obvious! LOL!)

    My problems:
    1. Where is the entrance to the Villa's area?

    2. How to get to the sewer on the back of the bank?
    3. Where is the key to a wooden door (taking by elevator).?

Have you managed to get into the metal vents/tunnels below the "red water" area? You can find a way up to the sewer cover from there and also access the ascending stone tunnel (near the locked door leading to the cable car station) where access to the villa can be found (this is the last thing to do) .

Unsure about 3? Do you mean the elevator in the sewers that leads to the room with the guards playing cards? If so there is a lever next to the door on the sewer side?

    Thanks Sigittal.
I am Colette's room, I have the shopbox key. What next?

Ad 3. These doors are in a building with a "glyph" and the poster "wanted" on the wall.

OK. The lift goes to the Dr's house. The priest has the key - and will give it to you if you enter the confession box in the church. Will not work if you've already KO'd him I guess but getting into the Dr's is not critical.

For the shopbox - explore further under the weapons shop

Unfortunately, the priest is asleep and didn't give me the key.
I opened the box under the weapons shopand returned to the corridor in the sewer, I found the entrance to the Villa.
    I'm in missions 2 ...
    Thank you Sagittal.

White one: 1x over curved archway, jumping over a fence.

I got the one outside, viewable from a turret early on (bronze?)
there's one above where you first enter the streets, but its rubble
there's another nearby, the white one bob mentioned, over a curved archway across from the guard lounge
I'm looking at the crystal pig near Collette's room and trying to figure out how to get it. I have some grapple arrows, but I need a hint.
does getting them all do anything? there's some backstory in the sewer near theexit secret.

I believe I'm at the point in the mission where I need to get into the bank, but how do I do that? I short circuited the alarm in the basement, but I can't get the blocked passage open
thanks to Gloria's post I figured out the pipe puzzle (I had the crank wrong). thanks to Dia's post, I went back and found the key for the doors inside the vault... now on to the villa!
