Just finished. This was a great mission.

Missing about 600 in loot, found only 1 secret and 2 bonus objectives. I also only found 1 Hammer station, so a replay is coming up soon.

About the only thing I didn't like about this mission was how new enemies appeared without warning, or how the warning only came somewhat afterwards. Reading a note that said something along the lines of "BTW Garrett, the watch stepped up their patrols" while sitting on a pile of unconscious watchmen felt a little weird.

Oh, and the herding. I hate being herded. By that, I mean instances where all the exists mysteriously close themselves except the one the author wants you to go through. It happens once in Ladytaker, and the way out wasn't obvious because the solution involved revisiting a previous location and finding something that wasn't there earlier.

The good parts include all the little plots running alongside the main one, the details you spot along the way, like Benny's letter, which is hilarious, and the "plaque" in the Verminatrix shop. The story moves along quite well, and there's loads of different things to do. Even climbers should find something to do here as well.

Overall, a great effort and fantastic mission. At least an 8, closing in on a 9.

Warning: Game-breaking spoiler below! Do NOT read unless you've completed Ladytaker!

I haven't tested this, but I think this mission can be broken quite badly because the doors to the Shrubbery shop can be bashed in. This could mean that certain events could be played out of sequence, especially since you can get the Vermin Buster before you spring Fat Timmy. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, this way you can skip all the objectives related to Elenora and the Ladytaker. So the order of events would be:

    1: Get VB.
    2: Break into Shrubbery shop.
3: Pull off the heist. (Ensure your escape route first!)
4: Escape to the Bloated Burrick through the Anvil and sewers.
5: Hear about Fat Timmy being nicked.
    6: Spring Fat Timmy.
7: Return Fat Timmy to the Bloated Burrick.
8: Wait for universe to possibly implode as you're standing in the Bloated Burrick with the Hammer and Fat Timmy lying unconscious at your feet.
    9: ...
    10: Profit?

The loot requirement could be a problem, but I'm not even certain that is too much of an obstacle. Along the way you do find the U.T. key, and there's nothing to stop you from using it...

Note: If the above is doable, then don't look at it as a flaw in your FM. Quite the contrary. Being able to break a game without having to resort to cheating is one of the most fun things you can do.

I appreciate the sentiment. It's difficult, with any kind of sequential storyline, and the Dark Engine doesn't make it any easier. Forced choices are best when they are not obviously forced, but sometimes you're between a rock and a burrick.

Oh, and all loot objectives are possible without any secrets or bonuses.

Stuck fast...I have sprung Timmy, I have listened to the ghost in lady walk I have found the secret pagan area..but apart from standing on the dish in front of the statue I'm unsure what to do, I have pinched the hammer and now I cant get back through the Upton gate as the small portculis has dropped...I cant jump over to the Anvil balcony but if I did its full of baddies and I cant find the sewer gate key or the woman who speaks for the dead....as I said, I'm stuck fast from this enjoyable mission.
    Help please.

Sorry, no rope arrows. Get up too high and the whole world implodes. Don't need one, though, so don't fret.

Really enjoying this mission, done quite a bit, but don't seem to be able to progress now without opening the sewer (?) gate - guess I need a public works key. Edit: Was too early - key available later after following the Plan.

Read I might need to find a body in the canal but obviously not Ursula!. Any nudges appreciated

@ lomondtaffer: I have been looking all over myself but havent found a rope arrow

Both lockpicks don't work, and the key to the upton and precinct key don't work. In fact, Garrett says 'I need a key for this" or something when you examine the lock/label

Funny - I thought the hatch above your head near the shrubbery place was important... maybe it's just a red herring though. I'll just look really hard everywhere for more ways to reach the apothecary.

    Thanks anyway!

The means to open that grate will... 'present' itself when you're supposed to go through it.

Which, IIRC, is right after you pull off the heist in the tomb.

Fun mission so far! I seem to be stuck though.

I've fiddled with the machine until it shot a grappling hook over to the tomb roof but I can't figure out how to get rid of the hammers (chemical solution?) so that I can rob the tomb and I've spent the good part of two hours now running the entire city over and over so I must be missing something. I've unlocked the escape route and have even dropped down only to be slaughtered by Hammers. I also bashed in the doors in order to get to the roof of the plant building - did that break the mission?

I even managed to use a slow fall potion to get stuck in the Hammer cemetery

Also, are you supposed to be able to reach the balcony with the woman standing on it right outside the Hammer tomb or be able to reach the overhang between two buildings that has a wooden door with no rope arrow? You can look straight up into it but I can't figure out how someone would get up into there without a rope arrow or boxes.

Lawviz: Unkillable Cat is correct. You've opened the gate in "The Plan". Don't worry about the other gate until you have completed all the other plan requirements. .

Cops and Frobbers: Have you read everything in Verminatrix? Balcony and overhang - you can't reach them from the outside.

Yeap, once I re-read the notice at Verminatrix I figured it out. You need to go to the Lions building and do some elevator trickery to reach underneath the lift to find what I needed.

    Thanks!

    Need some help please .

Have completed 9 objectives - 4 remain at present including the tomb, the mallet and loot Had been hoping to find a key for the sewer grate in the canal but maybe that's not correct?

May have done some objectives out of sequence eg "You'll need help from someone who can speak ...." - with the aid of a barrel

Hopefully haven't burnt my bridges and thanks for any nudges.

Sagittal: Read through the plan again. It tells you what you need, what to do and where to go. Find it, do it, then go there. You don't need a key to open "The Plan" grate.

I don't think you're in dire trouble - pretend you haven't done the other stuff yet!

Fair amount of frustration in this mission, though I'm trying to enjoy it.

Stuck again - The only objective I have left is helping Elanor dance with the woodsie lord and I need to find someone who can speak with the dead in order to do that.

The only one I know of that can speak with the dead (claims she can anyway) is dead at the bottom of the canal and I've been running around double checking every location that I can get to.

Edit: Well I grabbed the key to the plant shop and locked the machine onto the hammer and pressed the hammer button and something apparently has happened but I have no idea where or what it opened. This mission is an exercise in just running around blindly to see what has changed.

What happened was that the machine fired a cable. Jump up on the machine and do a tightrope walk across the cable.

Then you'll need to steal the mallet, then go explore the sewers which you can reach through the gate in the canal (the one above water level).
