    Also the bad sound propagation in the tail section of Assassins. And this happens in full Tfix. The assassins will often mute when you really need to be able to hear them.

    An example of this is towards the end where there is a wooden u-bend walkway around a pool, and if you wait in the shadow for them to go around the u-bendas soon as they disappear from view their footsteps mute until you go around it yourself and see them walking up the path.

    There were also at least two spots in Bedfellows where an apebeast will mute even though you can see it coming towards you, in that corridor between the locked door and the path leading to the raft.

    I try to avoid making the patcher too bloated.

    also, bad sound propagation is room brushing, I could be fixing that for the next decade and still not be done. but do drop the location into the bugtracker, if possible.

    Error opening file writing:

    C:\ .... common\thief_gold\ir50_32.dll

    Click Abort to stop installation,
    Retry or try again, or
    Ignore to skip the file.

    I skip the file and the game starts anyway, i thought perhaps its something important to post.

    don't like the "C:\ .... common" part too much, as it indicates a filepath that is perhaps too long, but the dll itself shouldn't be too important (but if your videos won't play, you'll know why). antivirus sticking its fingers where it shouldn't is also a possibility.

    After six months with TFix 1.26a, when do you plan to launch a new release?
    Or at least a dml in Caverns with another (again?) door that vanishes when opened (uploaded yesterday to bugtracker)

    doesn't happen for me - are you using some personal hires object pack that changes the door object shape and size? anyway, this dml should fix that particular door for you:

    Now itīs OK, thank you very much.
    Iīm using doors from Necroage and Geckoīs. Some of them have the brightness modified but object and shape are the same.

    Thief1/Gold hasnīt been updated for a year or so.
    Now that we have NewDark 1.27, extracting the new Thief.exe, squirrel.osm and motiondb.bin in their respective location would suffice or the Thief.exe needs extra stuff for TFix to work properly?

    yeah, just replacing the exe and osm should do for a quick and dirty update (I'll probably update the TFix builds sometime next week). not sure about the motiondb, I need to check what it is all about.

    Extracting the required NewDark files, including those in new_dark.zip, contrib.zip, and T1.7z, and renaming the executable accordingly should suffice until a new TFix version is released. I would not, however, overwrite cam_mod.ini or cam_ext.cfg, as they remain unchanged in 1.27. The executable included in TFix seems to be identical to the NewDark executable other than having the Thief Gold icons applied.

    OK, so the extra space in the exe is due to the icons only.
    Good to know it was only that.
    The same applies to Thief2fix?

    apart from squirrel, no contribs were updates as far as I can tell. so as I've said, that and the exe is all you need. definitely don't touch any of the cfgs.

    While this would probably better be spoken of in its respective thread, yes, this is also true of T2Fix, which will likely be updated to accommodate for NewDark 1.27 and its multiplayer beta within the next few days.

    1.27 is up, both lite and full. updated core files, fixed some stuff from the tracker, and FMdmls are in.

    A question about this part. In the installer, there is no such component. Are they installed by default? What if the player for some dumb and weird reason doesn't want them?

    correct - it's basically under the hood stuff to make things work better, just like the OM dmls. whoever doesn't want them for whatever reason (save one floppy disk worth of hdd space?), can safely delete the FMdml folder.

    Shouldn't the Thief 2 directory also have the folder "FMdml" as well in case if some fan missions of it's own that needs fixing too and not just Thief 1/Gold only? I mean, I do have T2Fix 1.27 installed already.

    I donīt remember if this was mentioned before but in Undercover you can can complete objective #1 by mantling on either lamp at the main entrance and then from the roofs getting into the compound.
    Iīm using your original gamesys.dml in OSM folder.

    they are definitely set as non-mantleable, but I'm guessing anyone determined to push through will do so after a hour or so trying.

    Sometimes at first attempt.
    If not, a minute or so after trying 4 or 5 times mantling usually takes its effect.
    As for me this is nothing serious but I just wanted to let you know.

    Like jumping in the same mission onto the platform where the talismans are kept without the bridge being deployed or in the Lost City where you can jump onto the platform that can be connected with the bridge (after activating it whith the lever). In this case the problem would be getting back without the bridge.
