    OK...figured it out.

    Changed....

    bind s +forward

    to...

    bind s +walk

Save .cfg file and then reload same in game.

    Yeah, silly me.

Although I'm noticing something weird about this one animated texture in TG, after installing TFix. There's this one texture of the electric panel of guages and such, that flickers an odd pixelated garble every 2 frames. I have no idea why this happens.

And for those who dunno what I'm talking about, then go down into the sewers of Shadow Politics (By our awesome guy Skacky), and you might see what I'm talking about.

I'm guessing incorrectly named resources in the FM or something like that. screenshot (or video) and a quicksave would be nice.

Sounds like a palette mismatch, though that shouldn't be an issue anymore.

I noticed that too while replaying Shadow Politics to try out a T1/G FM with 1.19.

Here it is normal and pixelated.

    And a quicksave

this is actually a broken texture in oRGy's texture pack. nice find. uploading a fix (extract to MODS\FAM\Mech and overwrite). will roll out TFix 1.12 sometime this weekend, this fix (and some more) will be included.

    Another question:

It seems to me that TFix also changes the symbols of Thief.exe and Dromed.exe. They now have the symbol of Thief 2 instead of Thief 1. Does this belong to TFix or did I change anything else?

You might have an icon file in the game's directory (I know the Steam version does). You can always make a shortcut and change the icon to match the original game. Since TFix uses the Thief 2 executable it naturally includes its icon (though there is probably a way for the author to change that).

correct. 1.12 will have this fixed as well (wanted to do it in 1.11, but with all that chaos, I simply forgot).

heads up, 1.12 is out. everybody is recommended to update (delete the "MODS" folder, and run the 1.12 installer).

How does TFix affect an existing install of thief gold? The only thing I'd want to do with TFix is apply the 1.19 patch.

if you don't want ANY fixes at all, I suggest you just use the 1.19 patch, as even the basic install (no mods) of TFix will apply some basic fixes (broken models, static sky and some more). it will also move the orig crfs into the RES folder, add an install.cfg, dark.cfg and cam.cfg that contain all the required edits to make it mod compatible and portable.

Since the default TG controls in 1.19 are slightly borked, how about adding the Thief 2 user.bnd as an installation option?

try loading T1 classic controls from the ingame menu, that should fix it up for you.

Recreating the original controls was not really what I had in mind, but thanks for the info. I generally think the T2 binds would be a good thing to include, maybe with the eye zoom removed to keep things canon.

Alright, here are the contents of the Thief 2 user.bnd

I commented out the binds related to the eye zoom. I thought about saving this as one of the schemes loaded through the game menu (as with the Quake, Unreal etc. ones) but I can't figure out where the game stores additional user-made schemes.
