And that game looks awesome. People would definitely pay to play that.

At what state is the game currently?

    I'll spare you, Interrupt.

It's in beta, guys. Renz has been playing it. There are posts in the 'what are you playing' thread. It's on Steam.

That's some rather cheery music for a dungeon delving game. I think I like the juxtaposition.

Now have LizardMen, Cauldrons, Shrines and a rudimentary UI.

Working on opening doors, hiding enemies not in a previously visited room and giving them intelligence so they're not all rooted to the spot like meerkats.

Also, too dark? There are dynamic light sources and some enemies will have their own lightsource, but I'm in two minds about whether to lift the ambient light level a tad. It does depend on which tileset has been selected as to the apparent level of gloom though - this one is particularly dark:

I will say this, your hat is a very well modeled hat. If I wore hats, I'd take my hat off out of respect for your hat.

We'll, I don't post around here much these days. Haven't worked with Thief Ii in a long time, and it's even been quite a spell for The Dark Mod.

But I made this recently hoping to get it into the Team Fortress 2 Halloween update. And it made it!!!

As I closet-pyro, I'm sorry I didn't fire up TF2 over Halloween But then again, I do find it rather too addicting, so that's probably not a bad thing.

I made random carpets. I am more excited than I should be.

Have implemented a fog layer so you get more of an exploration feel.

I've been looking into behaviour trees for the AI, anyone else used them before?

Ulukai, are you doing all the pixel art yourself, or are you grabbing it from a package somewhere and using it for your engine? Either way, it looks awesome.

Thanks. Most of the sprites are created by Oryx although some sprites are created from scratch or modified Oryx ones, because the ones I want don't exist.

That's pretty cool. The reason I ask is because I recently discovered that the iPad is just about perfect for doing pixel art. I found one particularly good app (albeit with a really annoying file selector), and I've been trying my hand at it again.

This is what I did last night...

Also, those 2-bit backgrounds in the ultimate rougelike tileset make me want to try something similar. They remind me a lot of Sword of Hope for the old original Gameboy.

Shame I don't have an iPad, or I'd be downloading it like a tramp on chips. Nice table.

Have now implemented impact animations. Firing weapons is now fun!

GameMaker has apparently recently gone free. I've downloaded it and I guess I'll start it up eventually and do the tutorials and form grand plans to make amazing games but then give up on it within a matter of days as I realize I lack the fortitude for this game making business.
