On topic - bollocks. RPS are covering it too and they're linking to a Google translation of a blog post by a lad over at 1c Ukraine. I'm genuinely surprised, since I was under the impression that STALKER had been very successful for GSC and that they were riding a reasonably-sized mountain of hookers and blow, I imagined it would give them at least enough leeway to get the next one out.
Hell, they even survived after making Codename: Outbreak, those guys were supposed to be shatter-proof. The STALKER 2 concept sketches were looking nice
Anyway, there was a thread about this in gen gaming already.
Awcrap. I'd really like to know how this came about. Like Ostriig, I thought GSC was riding pretty high. And I was sooooo looking forward to Stalker 2.

C:O was not too bad if you let yourself get into it. Very slow start, but I really started to enjoy it once it got going. Then it just got too hard for me to carry on. I couldn't go back to it though, as it has aged particularly badly.
I liked C:O a lot until I found the game breaking bug in mission 2. Never found a way around it. I have no idea how people managed to finish the game.
I never finished it, but I did get farther than 2 missions in. It does vastly improve as it goes on. I may even download it and play it again and see if I can stomach the visuals at some point.

I don't speak Polish but I believe the phrase on the picture basically means "What the fuck?" and it's both a reaction to the picture's contents and Koki's reaction to hearing the news.

Just saw another rumor on the Official Stalker FB page regarding embezzlement having gone on at GSC. Can anyone confirm/deny this with a link?

Good thing I wasn't one of those who dashed their monitor against the wall upon hearing the news that GSC was closing and Stalker 2 was a dead end.Odd thing is that this has the same news release date as the link I posted above, which was less positive. Oh well.
