I would be very gratefull for your help with instaling this pack. I assumed that only "Textures" needs to be replaced but I found that It mased up some of te textures

BTW, no need to copy all mission files as written in readme. Just specify a path to them in install.cfg:

load_path .+C:\Path\to\original\Thief

Tin just released Thief Gold Texture Pack v3 for Windows 7. Added about 25 new textures. Some others were modified, changed or deleted. This is the last pack by Tin releasing for Thief Gold.

Is it possible to get that Texture Pack to work with TFix?

a clean integration would require quite a bit of effort, but if you are willing to take a risk, extract this archive to your TFixed install of Thief, edit your install.cfg and change the resname_base line to this:

resname_base .\packv3+.\mods+.\mods\EP\Thief1+.\mods\EP+.\patches+.\res

it should work (no time to test it myself right now). do note that this will permanently alter your Thief install, and you will have to uninstall the game, delete the thief folder and install it again should you decide you do not want to use the new stuff anymore.

edit: NOT installing oRGy' world textures should improve the compatibility (if you already installed them, delete the MODS folder, run TFix again, and deselect the mod before installing).


I might make it fully compatible in the future, but right now, I have a ton of unfinished stuff that I need to get into TFix, and there are some issues I need to solve (some resources are hard to integrate, even with ddfix).

voodoo47, you are doing an awesome job on tfix! I hope one day you can also help integrate this cool texture pack, but in the mean time we all appreciate how much you've already helped the community!

thanks - but remember, the real work is being done by all the modders who create the new resources, I'm just connecting the pieces together (and even for that, I need help from Al_B sometimes).


btw, just noticed that you have an outdated version of TFix on your site - the current one is 1.10

Too bad Tin can't combine forces with Gecko. Both of these texture packs look too good to pass up. Unfortunately, you can only play with one at a time.

btw, you can mix and match the packs, but it's a real pain to get everything right.

Good for FM but not OM, atmosphere is lost. Original looks better.
